Eos, excellent tank, can fit 2 T2 disrupters, maintain tank, and with soem faction gear really put the hurt on people :)

I love it, what's the best solo 'gang' ship.......
.....Eos, because you waste all it's luvverly boni!
Astarte might be a better bet if you're actually serious because it has the extra lowslot and superduper gun boni. And you won't need faction guff to use it hard!

I'd say if your foe didn't have nos or at least not more then 2 med nos the absolution would be a good pick... crazy cazy light show of death and rather solid tank.
Since nos is a given in pvp the Eos is the prob the best huge tank can nos like a mofo and lots of dronie goodness. ------- Even my barge has kills... |

eos. For solo work nothing beats the nos drone combo. Or just the massive raw dps.
However, no command ship lives more than a day or two on solo work, because they inevitably get ganked.

Eos is a good all-rounder, but a sliep will eviscerate it in the hands of a good pilot, lighter, faster, better range, awesome DPS (plus AC's have changeable damage types)

after flying all minnie, gallente and caldari cs..
i find i use astarte the most (better than eos imho)
and i have a fond spot for the vulture.
but the best depends on your playstyle tbh

I love to use both the Eos and the Sleipnir for solo. And as much as i love the Eos for small gangs the sleipnir with its speed is just better for soloing.
Eos vs Sleipnir: they cant beat each other - a good setup Eos can tank the Sleipnir till it runs out of ammo ~570HP per cycle for t2 med rep with 2 nano pumps or 800+HP with a centum a-type + 2 nano pumps and most Eos feature a dual rep tank with good resists - a good setup Sleipnir can dictate range and orbit the Eos till both get bored Eos has very hard time to get through the shield tank of an Sleipnir (apart from hitting it at all)

I'm training for vulture. Would you be so kind and post your vulture fit and playstyle? Evemail is enough. tyvm
I think that vulture will be fine for small shield boosting gang esp. with mindlink.

Edited by: Setana Manoro on 26/06/2007 18:32:49 Edited by: Setana Manoro on 26/06/2007 18:31:21 Claymore is nice ... if you can live with just 330 DPS. Vulture can be nice too. Damnation can be a very nice ship too, if it is given a damage bonus, like all other commands have. Eos is definitely the best though.
Notice no Field Commands ? Because their silly expensive and everybody wants to pop them. :( Not much point in investing 400-2b in a command ship when a small gang can take it out and nos is so overpowered that a t1 fitted domi with a 4-5 months old pilot can rip it apart fast. Nighthawk can be fun.
Nos? Passive Tank. ECM? FoFs. Damps? Well those are just overpowered so anyone would be hosed.

Nanoed up sleipnir for true solo.
Everything else is too slow and will die to the majority of half-competent gatecamps.
Nanoed sleipnir will probably still die to a very good/big gatecamp, but it would be easily visible on the map, so you could avoid it.

Well, quick summary about you:
You have 17 entries in your employment history in just over a year, and out of your killboard records i could find 34 kills and 11 losses.
I'll bet pretty surely that I know much better than you what I am talking about.
anyway, if you want to flame me with being incompetent, you better be pretty good at the game, not a complete nooblet.
Sigh, end of offtopic. Sleipnir is easily one of the best solo ships in the game if you have isk for snakes.

Jup. Sleip is good. Now please use one while flying through our gatecamps.
I believe people that ask such questions about "best" ships are not the same as the people escaping those major gatecamps.
They drop good loot anyways.
I pew therefore I am.

Gatecamps are quite a different matter and still the sleipnir has the best chance to run back for the gate and jump befor being destroyed. Chances for that are much worse for the other CS.

sleipnir, eos, absolution and astarte rock imo.
I added absolution there because I have new found respect for that ship - the other day I dueled my friend in his and I was in a eos: I eventually beat him but it was not as simple as I thought it would be, my 3 med nos didnt drain his cap before I got him near to hull. It was a long fight and it put out some nice damage!
Sleipnir > eos for low sec because, at least in my case, most targets are not wardeced, so I keep having to recall my drones due to those nasty sentries.
Astarte + 5x med ECM drones works great for me as well - lots of damage and I even cause bs' to loose lock numerous times during a fight.
Claymore also has a great tank - when I fought one we were both left in a very ackward situation: we both ran out of ammo!

Yes, because your corp history has a lot to do with knowing how to SOLO pvp...
Although I agree with your analysis of CSes Ryya.
