I've been thinking about running this for some time and thought it would be fun. Basically the idea is to create 2 corps in order to run a RP'd and orchestrated war along with supporting web site and story line.
I'd be looking to run this during late European/early US time zones with the players using mainly frigates so its open to semi new characters or characters made for the event. Some indi pilots and team leaders with cruisers.
Although the story would be basically plotted out the players would determine the outcome of the campaign. I'd aim to run 2 events per day for up to 1 month depending on how it goes so I'll need some story writers to help me prewrite some content.
I'm currently really busy with RL stuff but want to get the ball rolling with an aim to start the campaign in maybe 1 month.

I like this idea, of a player orchestrated war between two corps. Certainly would inject much needed fun for some of us.
To give it a RP relevence you'll either need race specific corps, similar to PIE and Oracle. Or perhaps two corps (multi-racial) with a clash of ideology (Caldari, the high morals of the Liberals vs the unethical, exploiting of the Practicals; or Amarr, the old traditional and sometimes harsh ideals of the Sarum Family vs the liberal and open ideals of the Kor-Azor Family)
Either way something like this could be alot of fun not only to participate in but also to plan.

or maybe a campaign between a mainly mainly-minmatar corp accused by mainly-amarr corp of stealing some ships from them, bps, whatever. the minmatars find allies to match the bigger amarr corp and the whole thing starts with some skirmishes between frigates on both sides when the involved partyies run into eachother by accident during a mining op
just an ideea though

I've been considering what plot hooks to use for the 2 corps. Amarr vs Minmatar were obvious contenders but I felt that they were probably a bit over done and was considering trying something a bit new.
One of the ideas I'm mulling over was a caldari vs caldari war where one corp accuses the other of corporate espionage and stealing research tech leading to a full out war between the two.
Another idea was to form a Caldari terrorist group seeking to free Caldari Prime and a Gallente security force trying to crush them along with 3rd party actors to act as NPC type chars from both factions..
Basically the possibilities are endless if the intrest is there.

This, is a very very good idea.
Any old school pen-and-paper GM will be able to draft you up a generalised structure for the 'war'; one thats open ended enough for any real outcome.
What you've really got to decide on is numbers... and perhaps timezones.
Corp A and Corp B would need to interact, which obviously means same play time (not timezone).
Personally I think this would be more suited to alt fighting (for the majority) and noobies, so that you do get cheap frigates (and only really frigate warfare).
Since this is a RP war purely, I'm sure people wont mind what corp they get drafted into.

I rarely wander to the events forum these days but I did today because I wanted to suggest an event. The event was basically to start a war for some fixed amount of time for example a week or a weekend. I hadn't thought about including some roleplaying in to it but that's an excellent idea.
Guess I think to slow

Thing is here a Caldari would never steal from a fellow Caldari it is agasint out nature and our ethics. Now that isn't to say we wouldn't steal from those moronic Gallente fools.

I'm really glad to see that there is some intrest in this idea. I've been really busy in RL so havent had time to write up anything but keep watching this space. I'll contact a few of you in game for a chat as it would be good to brainstorm.
I'll hopefully have something up soon.

Hmm, good idea, shame I do not have any alt's left :(....
Lets see, got this minmatar char, my new Amarr char (which I play more of now a days) and a recuiting amarr char...... If you involve the minmatar's or amarr's in this I'm covered....

I beleive , although not exclusive to your idea, we already have this setup and already run an event. Cizins Fire and Amarrian Secret Services. Ran thru Hulm to Amarr. It was a scripted event , was loadsa fun. Last Sunday between 9pm and 10:30. Forgetting Cizins Fire had declared war on PIE, they podded most of the corp b4 we managed to complete the script in Amarr. Thanx to Appius ( a traitor to his kind ) for protecting Maximous Dominus as he so rightly demanded. There is going to be another event next Sunday in roughly same region between 8pm to 10pm. Hoping to run this every other week.
Although Hybrid , the 20 players we have involved atm would be happy to collude with whatever plans you may have. PIE have shown an interest in joining in too, hopefully not to pod us all so quickly this time :-)
