I've read some great ideas here and from a role play point of view, in the hyper-capitalist economy of the eve universe things like player owned small structures, for example, a hollowed out 'roid where you could set up your home and stash your ships and stuff, or yachts (fast, luxury, expensive alternatives to shuttles but with a few low and med slots) make a lot of sense, after all, in a capitalist economy companies provide what buyers want. Setting up a home, buying a classy yacht and such things are what rich people do

Well said. I'd rather have individually-owned structures and "hot rods" than walking in stations. ------ Pain is weakness leaving the body.

Hmm.. Why set up your home in a hollowed out asteroid, when you can have your nice, warm and free station home?
Set up yor home = npc station ? Stash your ships and stuff = station hangar?
Well, I can't make out any big differences. I'd actually rather have a planetary estate as alternative.
If you're talking about 0.0, however, that's a diferent topic. Having a home and base of operations there, at all, is nice.
Otherwise I wouldn't mention hollow asteroids and yachts or luxury in one sentence. Kinda doesn't make sense. Luxury estate on a nice planet - now that makes sense imho.

Luxury yacht in a hollow asteroid, why not? maybe you're a pirate and get shot where all the luxury homes you could afford are? Maybe you don't like living with other people?
But, having a home in 0.0 is quite already possible, building starbases, then building an aoutpost, holding sovereignty... Isn't that like building your home? -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast ! The Vexor Navy Issue is much more fun than the Myrmidon !

Aye, 0.0 is the only place this is possible right now.
The catch is that the little huts people would build all over would have to be destructible, and they'd have to require fuel, and boy, they're starting to sound like just putting up a small POS tower with a ship maintenance array.
What are you looking for that a POS can't give you? Apart from having to be at a moon in low-sec, I mean.

the point was, smaller homes (maybe asteroids, maybe the habitation things/casino type structure) for single players, not POS's that cost a fortune to buy and are a pain to keep running for small corps and impossible for single players.
And come on, have a bit of imagination, it is a role play game after all. Rich people show off wealth, they buy posh cars and boats and yachts....

I was talking about solo gameplay.
As for the asteroids and luxury thing - well yes, pirates might be interested in that kind of stuff. So, pirate feature for low sec and solo player feature for 0.0.
