So far the only thing that came out of this is good public relations for Black-Sun...
I mean come on really if you would have known at least something about Black-Sun you would have realized that we are a 0.0 corp, who occasionally go to empire when there is nothing to do in stain....
So I am asking now what the aim is for this campaign? Because I am clueless....
I do not think this is gonna be a great promotional campaign on your side because the stats are and will be very disappointed and will not convince future customers of you.
So if you really want to profile yourself as a (uber-)merc corp, get your capsuleers to stain.

To Black Sun, our contract against you guys is a favor to a friend. we were never going to go all out in stain with you guys. this wasnt meant as a quick war. we get paid per kill and a free, as long as is needed, pre paid war dec.. so we can wait till you guys drop the meat shield and return to empire or closer to it.

Ok now I'm really confused. You're saying that Black Sun is hiding behind a meat shield in 0.0 space? Huh???
Who is acting as their meat shield? I guess you could say they have a shield in that you have to go through the odd AAA gatecamps and the few IAC gatecamps that you may see along the way to get to their area of space but I really wouldn't call that a shield. More of a difficult place to get to. If you want to wait for them in empire and your contract allows for it be in for some really long waits. I doubt that they go down to empire much at all aside from occasional shopping trips. |

As someone else pointed out in this thread already. If the contract is to engage the mark in empire, why would they fly out to 0.0 and become a target for every other 0.0 corp in the area. IF Black sun stay in stain and refused to go back into empire, then they have done a good job. Just means they make less isk :P

If you want to have an effect on a target then you will have to go where the target is. Asking the prey to come to you well really dunno what to say.
And ganking and/or "griefing" npcers isn't really THAT hard tbh. Not that i'm saying B-S are hardcore npcers, compared to alot of others in Stain they for sure aren't. But IF they were would that make "the job" harder or easier?

OK, we have been War Dec'd by UtWoF, reasons given are we have 9 members who at some undisclosed time upset in an undisclosed fashion an undisclosed client.
As Tiptoes rightly pointed out we have to either pay 1 bil ISK or they extract 3 bil worth of damage. If we expel the members (hard thing to one when they are undisclosed) then they'll continue to hunt them.
With 1 Billion ISK I could trade for (approx) 3 x 90 day GTC. They in real money cost approx 116 Euros, 78 GBP or 159 USD. I'm not giving anyone nearly ú80 to carry on playing a game I already pay CCP. So boys if thats your aim then you can think again.
As for 3 Billion in damages then I seriously doubt we have a enough combined ships to total this, we don't even have a Corp Freighter, you already claim to have a spy in the camp so you should already know this. You already know we have no POS's erracted so I cannot see where you're going to extract this 3 billion for your 'client'. We're certainly only going to bring low cost ships out now we know this so I think it'll actually end up costing you or your 'client' more in war fee's.

It doesn't take Sherlock to come to some safe conclusions -
1) Nobody is paying for a contract on Black-Thorne, the reasons are obvious BS.
2) Bragging about the 6bn fitted command ship is just immature.
3) Mercs trade on their reputations and in this case they havn't done themselves any favours. Professionalism is your friend.
4) The Corp under attack is not a match, and will not earn a decent merc corp any money. For God's sake find a real target, one you will actually a) attack, and b) earn from.

I spoke to Carsak a bit and then to my client.
my corp does not want to waste time to this war. the information we were giving for this contract was not accurate and we dont like being stuck in a contract for months without getting any results to speak of.
the demands we were given for this contract were to high by far, based on assumption rather then intel. we dont like to stop a contract but we dont like being called griefers either.
I wanna thank Black Thorne for a smack free war. they are nice guys.
the war has been retracted, in 24 hours its over. the results so far were as followed:

I'm happy to say this war has end via talking rather than fighting. As per Pheleans post above it was seen as a contract accepted from his client which had false intel regarding Black Thorne, ending more with and agreement between UtWoF and his client rather than myself or Black Thorne.
We didn't keep accurate records of loses but they look about right to be honest.

Only dutch speaking pilots. If you think you found a Black-Sun alt-corp ask them to speak dutch and you will learn that most black-corp are none dutch speakers or mixed.

During this last week the credibility of my corp has been questioned and also the our ability to perform as a mercenary corp.
To prove to the eve community that we can indeed do the job of a mercenary we will do our next contract for highly reduced prices.

I'm guessing you guys killed the 'contractor' (whoever it may be) while he was carting around something valuable. It's easier to pay someone to keep an eye out for you - whenever you decide to shop (lolkill).

Here a little report from my point of view.
Everyone should know that some black-sun members was in empire during the wardec. And they did their shopping and to kill boring empire time some of them were on jita route scanning afk-travelers and haulers. And others went searching war-targets.
True we have idiots in our corp who dared to travel afk in empire during war-dec and he got spanked ( well done I think ) But other B-S members who were aware of the possible treat and when they saw a war-targets they docked up with their hauler and bought a ship and fits for engagement, some were succesful and killed you guys, others were outnumbered and stayed docked.
We knew that we are engaged or war deced ( whatever) by a new Merc corp who is trying to make a living, allthrough they may be an alt corp or not, this fact is certain they hardly hit us or we them (didn't know where they were).
And I don't buy the reason that the contract is to keep us out of empire ( read above).
Anyway Phelaen we both know that you made it with 4 pilots into Stain and that you have scouted and what reason you got, you decided to go back. I say it was a good call because you was outnumbered and we let you go and we hardly chased you down cause we were lazy-bones  . Sad thing is that you never showed up again after that.

They ran because of a stain empire gang (that was what i spotted 200km off the gate atleast). Got the give you a my regards for the nice gaterun !
Other then that i saw one of you guys jump out in a shuttle the moment i jumped in, in my vagabond.
Hope to atleast shoot one bullet at our next hostiles (although barage M is sky-rocketing in price, ...)

its true we went to stain with a few people that were bored, we thought we go have some fun till our ships died and we did. we had fun and we did die (though not your doing)
our contract is not to keep you out of empire, its to engage you when in empire.. that suits us perfectly. we can do that contract while doing others too.
no mystery here fellows.. its plain, simple and clearcut. if we spot you in empire or low sec we engage. get a few kills on you guys whenever we can.
