Been flying around empire lately and been seeing alot of freighters. Are there still groups suiciding? Would be fun to tag along and grab some of the loot  .
Anyway how can the suiciders be sure? Freighter pilots would have everything in freighter cans? Is it worth the risk?

I think the rev II patch caused drones to get jammed with concord response as well now, so you need more ships to gank a freighter again.
Dunno if it's viable still or not.
I could also be completely mistaken.

not all freighters use cans, scan it first

I thought I read that you could see content of cans now when scanning a ship?

Then you started after Rev2 as it wasn't possible to scan inside a container before Revelations 2 came out.
At first, it was possible, then a bug slipped in and containers weren't scanned anymore. Now it's possible again.

I've scanned the contents of cargo containers in in cargoholds in RMR, Kali 1, and pre-rmr.

tbh most suicide freighter gankings have been contracts not just random scanning so don't worry too much.

if you're going to do any kind of freighter ganking I suggest using a passive targeter so that they wont suspect a thing.

2nd'd. i'd wager a freighter that saw a gank incoming would SD to destroy its stuff.

considering the time in which the ganking itself has to be done in i can assure you there would be no time for that. if he lasted 2 minutes then the attackers would be long dead from concord.
most likely however he would log off.
