Well I was wondering, if you have good standings for a faction lets say .8+ and the corp you are with has terrible standings with the faction you have, can you anchor a POS? Or do corp standings carry to all members because of the corp tag?
If the later is true can I drop corp, get POS set up and rejoin corp with POS still being good to go for corp? Sorry for the noobish Q's but new to POS's any help would be great....Thanks In advance |

Only corporate standings matter when setting up a POS. Individual standings are ignored.
You can not anchor a POS for yourself. A POS is always a corporation property. Therefore if you leave a corp, the POS stays in that corp.
(Would people understand this better if we started calling them "COS"? Corporation Owned Starbase?) |

you can easily create your own 1-man corp, then launch the POS for the corp. you can leave an alt in that POS corp and rejoin your old corp if you want. however, only the POS alt will be able to use the POS so make sure they have useful skills. |

Make your one man corp, wait the week + 1 or 2 days, until the one man corp has your personal standings, then anchor the pos. Then have everyone from that old corp join yours and you guys should be set to go. |

Or kick everyone out of the current corp to allow your corp to get the standings to anchor the POS. |

Or anchor the POS in 0.4 or lower security space and ignore standings completely...
You also save because you do not have to feed it any charters.
However, this means you must put some hardware at a (theoretical) risk. In practice if you haven't pissed off anyone, people rarely pop lowsec POSes randomly unless you happen to plant 'em in a system someone considers their "home". |

Corp standing is recalculated at downtime everyday. |

Of the people who have standings (make sure the alt has never done a mission), and who have been in corp for 7+ days.
Also, once the POS is anchored, your standings can go to hell, no problem. |

This does not appear to be completely true.
I made a new 1-man corp yesterday, well before downtime.
My personal standing with Caldari State is +4.79. But this morning, my new corp still has standing with Caldari State (and everyone else) of 0.0
So it would appear that either there is a bug with how the standings are reported, or else there is a delay of some sort built into the system.

I don't know but I certainly got my 1 day corp standing raised after the first downtime. |

Fuel block consumption begins Jan 24th after down time.
So if you anchor before then, you need to use existing fuel and have fuel blocks ready for the cross over. If you wait till after the 24th, you just need fuel blocks and starbase charters. |

Pretty much this.
The current mechanic is as follows:
CS = sum(TS)/Toons
where: CS = Corp Standing TS = Toon Standing (unmodified by skills) Toons = total number of toons affecting standing.
In order for a toon to affect standings:
- They must have been in the corp for a minimum of seven (7) days (or downtimes, whatever)
- They must have non-null standings (i.e. have run a storyline).
- At least one (1) storyline has to be run by someone in the corp to "kick" the standings into being calculated. Generally this would be done by the CEO sometime between day 0 and 7 of their corporation being formed, so that the POS can be anchored on day 7.
The Corp Standings are then calculated daily at downtime, taking into account all characters that meet the above criteria. |
