no, it's all my fault. at least my wife says everything is all my fault, so i must assume this guy quitting eve is my fault as well.

What a loser that guy was. I had my first experience with low sec about a month in, a courier mission through a low sec system. Never saw any pirates, human or otherwise. "That's easy I thought" and promptly started ratting in low sec. Great bounties, and then a PvP ship showed up and popped me in about 1 sec flat. "Well", I thought, I made stupid mistake in not watching for human players, and so back to low sec I went. And promptly popped again (I was more carefull so I last a whole 2 seconds!). So I stayed in empire, trained and read about PvP and how to protect oneself. Now, while it is still far from safe, I am no longer easy meat and I have several strategies for keeping my ship and pod intact. But I never take anything that I can't afford to lose either. And in my last PvP battle (me and a guy to shield boost me) I lasted 10 minutes in a Drake against a Commandship, a drake, a thorax and a tristan. And I learned from that loss too. Don't play Eve if you can't bear to lose ships and aren't prepared to learn from both your wins and your losses.

Learning to live in eve is tough, some people can't hack it. The rest of us aren't sad to see them go.
After I made my first 100m, I had a string of bad luck/choices that pushed me down to 5m. Now I've worked my way back up.

It is totally your fault. You should reply him immediately and the text should be: "Can I have your stuff?"

Send him 5 isk and a message DON'T DO IT I'M SO SORRY!
Shame for him but EVE has piracy, always has and always will. Not your fault, not his fault for being a noob, but his fault for not learning something from it... even if he learned he didn't like EVE that has nothing to do with you.

Edited by: SloBones on 03/07/2007 19:43:18 It seems to me that carebears are wired wrong for the game. They like to get in the biggest ships before they can fly them properly. And then get ****ed when they lose their ship and all their life savings.
An example in my alt's corp these two guys are talking about how they got popped in low sec. I ask what they are flying and they say cruisers. Both characters are under a month old and as far as I'm concerned should not be flying a cruiser in lowsec. So I explain the fly ships you can properly fit lecture.
And does it fall on deaf ears they proceed to tell me that they have the best fit for their cruisers out there (using small hybrid turrets mind you) and that they would have beat the pirate in low sec except for the fact that he had them warp scrambled.
So the point that I'm getting at is that these fools are everywhere and have no concept of how to pvp or even what pvping is in the game. And the only way they will learn is by being sent to the clone bay over and over again...

It's not ALL carebears that are "wired wrong" but the ones that don't learn for some reason. I'll be the first to admit I'm a Carebear. I'm not here for the PvP experience, but I do rig up so I can at least survive if I get locked into a fight. In a very short time, I too could be flying a BS, but without the large weap skills and such, I'm going to be flying home in my pod. So I keep training up the skills so that when I do grab a Megathron or whatever, it'll be because I am able to COMPETENTLY fly the blasted thing. (although I'll just hate to hop out of my Myrmidon....still ain't had the paintjob scratched in over 2 months)
Mine da rocks, make more ships. Pop da rats, make more rigs. Sell da gear, make more money.
