The what now ? YES, it's the Ibis, Velator, Reaper and Impairor !
Everybody gets one of them (according to race) for free when they dock to a station they have no ships in. They really, really suck performance-wise even compared to the first "insurable" frigate in most cases... but... well, they are better than a pod or a shuttle in combat, aren't they ? I mean, they can use weapons at least, it's got to count for something.
I don't think anybody would be crazy enough to rig one of them, and I can only suppose you'd want to fit really throw-away gear on it in the first place, but... does anybody have a preference in which of those four they actually loved flying, and a relatively cheap setup to use them ?

Velator with 75mm rails and 2x hobgoblins dish ou a fir bit of dps (about what, 20-25?) if you have good drone skills. Just concentrate on tanking that MWD :)

You can't use rigs on them as they don't have any calibration points
A fun little ship I have laying around is a Reaper with 2 x 125mm II, AB and overdrive.
We're sorry, something happened.

And you would use a 15mil rig on one of those ships if they DID have points?

It would be nice to have a LP shop option to upgrade them to faction frigates. I want a Republic Fleet Reaper with an extra bonus and some increases, just to be leet. I think that would be cool.
Another issue is why isn't there bpo's on the market for them and why can't we sell them? Surely they are better than shuttles?

Ive been running around our gatecamp in a Veltor or doom.
Check this:
2x 125mm Railgun T2 1x 1mn MWD T2 / Or Sensor Booster T2 1x MAPC (micro aux power core) 2x Warrior T2s
(if I had AWU L4 or L5, not sure, i could go up to 150mm, too lazy to do it)
Ive got on about 20 non-shuttle/frig/pod killmails with it.
Another cheap setup I use:
2x 75mm Railgun T2 1x Sensor Booster T2 1x 200mm Plate
Gives me a little under 1000 armor points. Enough to survive a bunch of extra hits.
Yeah, ive been giving this way too much thought =)

I've run a level 2 drone complex in one of these - 75mm rails, small shield booster and a PDS, with the obligatory 2 hobgoblins. Actually, it works quite well - rookie ship with 50km combat range ftw!

ROFL make gang 15-20 noobships - this will IMBA, but use gang modules - for example: ECM Bursts, Remote Sensor Dampers, Tracking Disruptors - in gangs like this - its our all ^^
p.s. 12 noobships with gang modules kill vagabond easy like a pie 8-)

I do the exact same thing. Don't forget the single light drone. It is actually mildly survivable because of the speed it gets, and the damage output is more than one would expect. I keep meaning to take it out on a search for hardcore killmails.

Ah, the low sec gate camping Ibis...
I suppose that if you had 400 people with these, and did the log out, log back in thing, you might be able to catch a helpless person stuck at the gate while they were trying to log back in, and pop them.
Would be hilarious to try it. ------------------

HAHA I still have my twin AC reaper around here somewhere. I actually did all lvl1 missions in it except WC. Thats when another corpie suggested I buy a better ship. To which I responded..."but I am only on lvl1" after a couple "rofl"s and "NOOB!!"s I got a good explanation of the game. LOL!

Gank Velator!
2x Light Neutron Blaster II
1x Warp Disruptor II
1x Micro Auxiliary Power Core I
2x Hobgoblin II
Named MAPC(+12) can get you a named AB, named MAPC and dropping to ions gets you a MWD(my favorite option). Obviously, in a gang of gank velators you need some with tackling capability though, webs, damps, scrams and the like, maybe a few tracking disruptors if you have enough gangmates.
DPS is suprisingly good.

I thought ions + magstab did more damage than neutrons + MAPC

I see that vid was added last december on youtube, so about half a year ago. Wasn't this first posted a lot sooner than that, a longer time ago ? I can only assume this is a copy of the original, but I couldn't find another version online googling.

Yes, but ions don't give you enough grid leftover to fit any other module.
0.87 pg free after fitting T2 ions, and a MFS takes 1MW.
