What would you guys say is the hardest ship to kill (apart from capital ships)?

with or without nos? with nos i would say a 8 rack NOS maelstrom and without nos a 12 km/s HG snake faction fitted crusader Playing minmatar is "like going down a flight of stairs in a office chair firing an Uzi". |

Passive tanked vulture has to rank pretty high up there. Claymore is also a ridiculous tank.

By kill I don't just mean break the tank, you also have to catch it first.
Also a ship which can be more activly involved in combat than a cov-ops frig can.

lol in that case any ship in game is equally hard to kill. u sit cloaked at a safespot and ur pretty much invulnerable in any ship.

Being activly involved in combat whilst staying cloaked at a ss could be an interesting challange

any sensible t2 sniper is hard to kill IMO, as long as they look out for bubbles of death/quick inty pilots. Just warp in, align to a SS, pew pew pew, omgintyapproaching0transversalpewpewpewinstapopwarpwarp

Edited by: Merin Ryskin on 01/07/2007 20:10:15 Either:
1) Faction-fitted nano ship/inty + snake implants. Bring a Minmatar recon or it's going to run away the moment you have a chance of killing it.
2) Passive-tanked Vulture. Huge dps tanked, and immune to nos. Set up for full tank, it's literally un-killable 1v1.

I figured it would prob involve nano ships of some description, only problem is any minmatar recons is going to pwn you.
Would a nano rapier be able to survive being jumped by another minmatar recon if the rapier was already in a fight or would it just come down to who got first lock?

1 on 1 a damp/ecm ship would be interesting, can't kill what u can't lock , but i don't think this is what the op meant, i think a pure tank perspective is more likely, so yeah then a passive tanked vulture or NH is a good candidate. CCP, let us pay the online shop with Direct Debit!!!

Just to clarify I don't mean 1 vs 1.
I was just wondering which ship was most likely to survive a 1 vs 1 or 1 vs many or many vs many encounter.

Without being nos'ed the absolution with 3x centum a-type med rep is the toughest tank i have used so far (and yes it perma runs the reps)).
Passiv tanked Vulture is also pretty crazy plus nos proof.

IMO prob a recon ship maybe a rook or a huggin. Both pretty good jammers, cant hit something you cant lock.

Indeed, especially not with drones, FoF or smartbombs. ;)
I hear the Gallente Shuttle tanks pretty well though...

a gistii a-type snake inty with a 24+km scram is very useful and if properly piloted nearly invincible... you can pin a target down and keep it from going anywhere for awhile, and short of another very competent inty there won't be much of a chance of getting popped...
and I don't suggest a crow in this case, as a crow really sucks at taking out drones/other inties that try to kill it... a beamsader or arty claw (hell maybe even pulses/ACs if you're just worried about drones) and you won't have much to worry about other than massive lag

Im going to go with the Fully ranged Rokh. At 250km, most ships cant even target it =) Even fast intys would take 1/2 a minute to get there, well more than enough time to warp to an SS.
Range == the Best tank evar!

Only issue is... you cant use it offensivly - without presset BM's, and any recon will take you out, and covert ops can void your entire tank.

The Huginn can web up to 200km iirc, in theory ofc.
Though with average drone skills youll still have 50-60km range, wich far surpasses your average Huginn with its 30-40km web.

This would have to be a Templar.
Huginn is a tough thing to get close to 1v1 unless you don't need to get close. This question doesn't have a clear answer because you can rig most ships to counter certain ships. ---

well there's no real "instapwn" counter to a snake inty going 10km/s... I don't care if you web it, etc, it can still warp near instantly, making it so only a very lucky sniper hit right before you warp after you're webbed might actually pop you... of course, a crusader in such a role will have a damage control, and I doubt a sniper fit can actually land a hit for enough damage to instapop it from any decent range

I fought a full officer fitted Astarte fitted for full tank. It was ungodly strong, and nigh impossible to bring down, even heavily nossed and with 3 BS's on it. It didn't use cap charges, either. ------------------- My opinions (ie, all of my posting here) are not my corporations. Nor should it be taken as such. |

well, considering it is pretty hard to hit one going 5-6km/s or more, the interceptors are probably the hardest to get down...ive heard very good things about nos domis too...
