Gripen, you already know EFT totally kicks ass! So... here's some suggestions that I'd like to see implemented if possible
Like QuickFit has, an option to list modules that would fit the last cpu/pg, eg you have a setup with one slot free and very little cpu/pg kinda, what modules would fit in that last slot, rather than having to try module after module to see what might fit.
As many users upload a screenshot of their setup on EVE-Files a function to save only the fitting window to a jpeg or similar would be nice, that way its easier for the users and we don't have to see the whole desktop kinda. Also would be really sweet if one could export the settings to a file. Maybe even building some nice site to upload the setups to so that you can download other peoples setup with a simple click from EFT (I'd be happy to aid you in creating such a site/service whenever possible).
What also would be nice is the way that EFT list ships initially, would be cool to have some filtering options there, eg a way to list ships based on cargo size etc, that would make it much easier to find a ship to set up if you are looking for it to fullfill a special role.
Keep up the great work loving it!

Edited by: Chribba on 07/03/2008 07:46:29 Sweet as ever, and the save image is a most welcomed feature. Keep up the great work!
edit: if it would be possible to save the DPS graph as well I think you're spot on.

Just a friendly heads up Gripen. I think you should include the MD5 signature of the EXE and ZIP in your OP, I've been noticing users uploading repacks of EFT onto EVE-Files but with trojans in the EXE, I do my best to remove and block them per auto but there's still a risk of such packages ending up on other sites as well.
So just a suggestion to include the MD5 signatures on the EXE and ZIP (EVE-Files now display the ZIP/RAR signatures upon download).

Does this mean that we could potentially get an infected version from the official link (as listed in the OP post)?
No, just like Meiyang Lee said, the official link is ok, but other packages (on other links) may not be safe.

Two suggestions.
QuickFit had this "last slot" feature, where it suggested what to put in the last empty slot based on available cpu/pg, that'd be cool.
Freighters added, I know no slot, but good to estimate resistance, cargo, sig radius, etc.

While it's Gripen's choice to put it on EVE-Files or not. I would personally recomend that downloading off EVE-Files - make sure the file is located in either Gripen's OR my folder (/media/corp/gripen/ and /media/corp/OTHER/) due to the recent attempts to infect EFT packages with viruses (and most other locations get auto-removed anyway).
My upload: http://dl.eve-files.com/media/corp/OTHER/EFT2.5.1.zip

This post is not to tell Gripen what to do or not to do, but just to clairify the EVE-Files situtation. Of course Gripen choses what he feels suites him the best and should continue to do so in the future as well.
My guess is that Gripen has decided to not use EVE-Files any longer due to the fact that there are people uploading "EFT" to EVE-Files additional times - but with the added virus-infected EXE's. I myself has taken the policy to remove all EFT versions NOT LOCATED in Gripen's own folder to remove the possibility of false versions.
I also would like to enlighten that there have not been any security flaw in EVE-Files, Gripen's account is his own and his files, but upon for example searching for EFT you could get presented with one of the "newer" uploads. However by using supplied links in Gripen's post there would be no risk of encountering any wrongfully files - unless ofc it's by Gripen's own upload - which I highly doubt he ever would manipulate.
I look forward to Gripens future work, no matter where it is hosted and hope that he continues to develop his software as it is an amazing addition to our community. Keep up the great work Gripen!

Originally by: Tonto Auri Chribba, just curious, do You use any virus-checking on the files uploaded to Your host? I know that at least Dr.Web is able to scan for viruses in (even) nested archives.
Yes there is AV running, however there is a slight problem running it the way I want since I cannot have an AV running checking every file when it is accessed since there is a lot of requests every sec.
So what happends is that an uploaded file is saved onto a specific folder which is being monitored and then after a short time moved to its destination. There is a chance that an infected file can be moved out from that monitored folder before the AV has checked it and thus getting past the scan.

Reporting rigslot error on mimir, 3 in-game, 2 in EFT. - This is a gfx bug in-game, it has 2.
Also as others reported, seems setups isn't saved all the time.

What's wrong with it? It's no longer possible to link it ingame but according to dominion dump slot layout should be 6-3-6.
It was nothing, it's showing 3 rig-slots in-game, however there are only two that can be used. So nm it is a client UI error, 6-3-6 is correct.
