It seams that in the latest Patch scanning has been improved so much so Player killers can find you in Deadspace in seconds.
CCP this places a big advantage on Player Killers as in Mission area's due to the fact you might be Tanking the rats Now you have Player Killers to Tank to. As normal these guys dont go around on there own but in Gangs, that well out number 1 Player.
I Understand this is a game of PVP but give Mission Runners a Fair Chance.

I'm actually considering going back to high sec, as low sec doesn't seem to be worth the risk.

The only good thing about low sec is the short waits for BP material research.

Learn to exercise some situational awareness or stay out of low sec. It's that simple.

Is it? Simple, that is. Really? I suppose you could be right. CCP might not change any of the gameplay again. What we have is what we'll have. Simple as that.
Or, perhaps this is a *game* that is constantly being tweaked by it's developers. And maybe, just maybe, the right balance between risk and reward is not so simple as it might seem. Perhaps, as unlikely as it might seem, the perfect balance has not yet been achieved and further changes need to be made. Maybe.
Or we might just have achieved Nirvana with Rev II. CCP might be happy that 0.0 space is getting abandoned by mission runners. Of course, that's not what they stated as their intent with Rev II. But they might have found Nirvana despite the fact that their changes are having unintended consequences.
I guess we'll have to each decide for ourselves. --------------- Seven Wonders crowed the man, Knowing six were gone. And how the great illusion lingers on... |

I'm not arguing that the game is balanced. It isn't. It's just that the OP is complaining about the wrong kind of balance. Whining about how easy it is to probe mission runners isn't the solution. Being probed by a pirate can be avoided with proper vigilance.
The balance problem isn't with mission probing being too easy - it's with low sec rewards not being high enough. Avoiding death in low sec requires vigilance and/or teamwork. If you cannot pay attention to local and your scanner while running a mission, stay out of low sec or get a friend to watch for you. This is where the game is broken. It isn't worth it to have someone watch for you. It's cheaper for both people to run missions in high sec.
If a low sec mission was worth 6x more ISK/hour than a high sec mission, it would make sense for a gang of players to run the missions together. The mission itself doesn't have to be any harder than the high sec variety. It just has to make it so that each player gets more ISK/hour for doing the same mission they would do in high sec. That is how you get people to cooperate. That is how you get people into low sec.
A gang of Level 4 mission runners can kill almost any solo pirate. Those are the kinds of incentives needed to move people to low sec. As it is, there is no incentive for a team of players to run a mission in low sec, when each of them could run the same mission for the same, or even greater, ISK/hour in the complete safety of high sec space.

Well not everyone shares the same rush for killing another person in this game. Some ppl just like to log in for a few hrs and run some missions, shoot the fish with there mates over vent/ts.
I mean if Wrangler really thinks like that then he/she is bad for CCP as he/she alone promotes that CCP don't give 2 %^#$'s about the small player base who just wants to explore the simple world of eve and have their version of fun.
I run missions etc and do my share of carebearing but love to grief also. But yes CCP remove the ability for griefers to upset those who just want to run missions or there will be a million petitions and also you will start to lose players back to WOW....
Let people have their little sandbox or they will find it elsewhere.
