Hi, I am Shocker, I've been playing Eve-Online for more than a year. (currently lazy to check exact date, but I think its around a year and 3 months?) Here is my contribution ideas to you Devs.
First thing that came up in my mind. Despite it is about the video tutorial, but the current tutorial ingame should be changed further first. (but later the video ideas!)
But concerning the video tutorial, the FIRST thing that Eva should do, is pop up a window notice to recommend players to check out the tutorial and mention about additional tutorial video instructions "bonus" when COMPLETING the tutorial, the FIRST time that a player freshly install/reinstall Eve, be it new or existing characters. :)
That way, new players will be further encouraged to check out the tutorial, because I introduced some players to Eve-online and only a few skipped the tutorial OR quits mid-way to the tutorial. So it needs something to encourage the new players more to check it out.
Right now, the current tutorial is fine, but with the idea i thought up, I'd call it "basic tutorial." When people CHOOSE to do the tutorial, Eva, again should mention something like "additional video version of the Tutorial" at the start of the tutorial.
When players finished the tutorial, that's where the "video" tutorial, you guys thought up, come in. :)
Say after they finished with the tutorial, what Eva should do is explain and ask what that new player want to do exactly so it'll help amd give some idea and/or direction after tutorial finished.
The choices (so far) should be either "combat" or "industrial."
The combat and industry choices is self-explainable, but covers more instructions and details on either of those category. But, I'd say the players have a choice for a video version or ingame instructions format like the "basic tutorial." I am sure that few people wouldn't check out the video format.
And that's all I can think of ATM. I let someone take over from here if anyone think its great idea by far, but further "enhanced" and/or better, yet maybe similar idea. :)
