Edited by: Lomex on 17/03/2004 15:38:29 Ok I got this idea from reading the superhero mmorpg boards. (thread in there has reached 150+ pages)
Basically it works thus: Every day I give a clue and you guys have to take a guess. You are only allowed one guess a day (you can change it if someone already beat you to it).
What I am looking for is a name, be it a character/ship/event/entity. All entities will be from sci-fi space opera's or the such and have specific names. Names will be drawn from a variety of sources: TV/Films/Books, but not Video Games. Prominance will be to TV/Film (its easier)
I'll keep a tally of the scores... here, as well as the current clues.
AtoningUnifex: 4 Celebon: 2 Darkii kior: 4 Fedaykin Naib: 1 Gruborian: 1 Rodj Blake: 3 ThreeD: 2 Tigersbane: 1 Valisk: 1 Valshon: 1
Congratulations to AtoningUnifex and Darkii Kior for being joint leaders after round twenty. Both will be recieving 4 million isk prize money in accordance to their scores. The rest of you will have to try harder :P
Check back in a day or two for round 21. ___________________________________________ Join in the NEW Sci-Fi Quiz |

Technically, Maximillian was a cyborg, of course, given that he was originally a member of the crew. |

Edited by: Celeste ***i on 23/01/2004 08:16:06 I'll take your Moya (Farscape) and raise you two cyborgs (not quite living) and a non-sentient but living ship:
1) Helva, from McCaffrey's The Ship Who Sang 2) Schussler the Cyborg, from Resnick's Santiago: A Myth of the Far Future 3) The ship built in E.T.: Book of the Green Planet by William Kotzwinkle.
All three of which pre-date Farscape by quite a bit. Films and TV are too easy. :) I'm sure there are earlier examples, but I'm also sure you were looking for Moya.

I'll take your first answer of Helva (since someone already picked Moya) ___________________________________________ Join in the NEW Sci-Fi Quiz |

All questions have a specific answer in the form of a name.
None of this generalised "oh its, you know, them from that film staring that guy what dies a lot" answers please
I will use some judgement in accepting partial or alternative spellings. In some cases it wouldn't be impossible for an entity to have two names e.g Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker are one and the same person. ___________________________________________ Join in the NEW Sci-Fi Quiz |

I'd say its tin man from that episode of startrek where that betazoid dude became linked with it and managed to tell the living ship to destroy the approaching romulan war birds. Incidently for those who know of the living ship i'm talking about, they fed their writers a few pizzas and then used a stethescope to record the noises of digestion for the sound effect while the crew was inside "tinman".

edit: at least in the German translation was that its name.

The actual Voyager ship in Star Trek was a living thing. Can't remember if it was a mutation though (didn't watch it an awful lot).

I was drawing a blank on this one tbh.. I'll take a guess at Kryten from Red Dwarf - he had 3 spare heads (and a main head) so I can only assume the same went for bodies.. ;)
