As part of the restructuring of EG I intend to allow "direct-access" for authenticated Press reps of each and every major alliance.
This will allow Alliances (and in some cases corporations) to directly comment on news stories and also to directly submit their own statements/press releases and news.
(There is no requirement to do so though at any point, it simply gives you the ability to.)
At the moment "commenting" on news articles is turned off, with it turned on these "Official" reps will be able to add comments directly onto the tail of a news article (so long as it remains in-character, on-topic and in-line.)
They will also be able to publish direct "rebuttal's" as main news articles, and publish their own news articles (Subject to spelling and grammar checks and IC/IG rules). Obviously all such submission will be clearly marked as "XXXXXX ZZZZ Alliance Representative".

We would like the following Alliances to submit a single pilot to take up this role:
Curse Alliance
Fountain Alliance
Phoenix Alliance
Stain Alliance
CFS
Forsaken Empire
And also the following Corporations:
BSC
Oracle
Pie Inc
Evolution
Techell
Space Invaders

As so few of the alliance have a single point of contact can they please submit their nominee's to this thread? The Corporations can submit their nominees direct to myself via EVE-mail or via the "Contact us" link on EVE Guardian itself.
(Neither list are definitive and they can/will be added to.)

Its just a starting list Robeyone.
They have all been in the news more than once and each plays a distinct role within the curent community (intentionally or not). Plus they are all substantial in terms of either players, politics or finances (or all three).
It isnt a definitive list, but we need to start somewhere.

The point is that Alliances either want to be formally repressented or they don't. I'm not going to be chasing anybody. This has to come from the players not the other way around.
An alliance can get together and submit a rep~ or not. I'm not going to persuade or cajole people into it.
If they chose not to submit a rep then they won't have the opportunity to make formal declarations or responses to any articles.
The time where a news service has to endlessly chase down responses for days or weeks without knowing who to contact is gone.
Every alliance should have a SPC (Single Point of Contact). Those that don't simply miss out on having any input.
Sorry but I don't intend to faff-about with this. Alliances and corps have to show some effort or "tough luck".
(And in anycase if an alliance is incapable of producing a single rep it says that it isnt really an alliance in anycase)

I'm the legal representative of SPVD and I'll also be representing the corporation in EG.
The FE is a different matter though. I cant talk on the behalf of the whole alliance.
If you publish false news about us Morkt, I'LL SUE YOUR ASS!!

Im not sure how to "handle" the FE as it does seem unlikely they will be able to have one single rep...
Outside of Biomass who are the enxt largest Corp (not including SPVD)?

Ok - I will set up a "generic" account and send you (Tornsoul) the login details by eve-mail. You can then share those with the other two and "whomever" can represent as needed.

We can but try.
EG have formed a solid and extensive readership already - this new level of access to various reps will see how the various Alliances and powerful Corporations wish to be viewed "publically" in how they treat/deal with news articles.
For many it may well be their first public exposure to an audience that far outnumbers those who view the forums.
It would seem foolish to me for any Corporation or Alliance to either abuse that or fail to therefore take advantage of it.

Does that mean you will be the PA contact to EG then H?
(As with the SPVD/FE issue I see no harm in a singel generic "representative" login being shared amongst the heads of the various Venal Corporations - It would then be for you guys to sort out internally who answers what and when, EG would just tkae any response via that account as "official" from PA.
Depending on the workload and success of this tiral we would probably expand the number of user accounts to include more corporations, so, for example, eventually Oberon and RONA {et al} would have individual reps.
Small steps only at this point though eh.)

This is an excellent effort. Not only does this bode well for EG, other news agencies (ahem, ahem) can benefit from having knowledge of whom to contact when something newsworth happens.

Ok - we're just getting the code working properly and i wil then start posting out the user info to various Users/Groups.
I will also make up a FAQ with guidelines on it for use etc... but the major guidline is "stay in character".
We will be auto-closing commentary on articles after 72 hours which should give you a good chance to respond.. we will add legnths of comments, other details (html yes/no etc) onto the FAQ.
EG staff will, of course, be editing any commentaries we feel aren't appropriate, aren't In-Character and In-Game (No RL references), spelling and anything thats blatantly arguementative with regards other comments.
examples etc will be included in teh FAQ.
We still need a m0o rep and a SA rep (MASS or EV or GFL) and CFS.
