Nice job guys, put all the mission hubs and the biggest trade hub in the universe together in the same area.
Brilliant.
I'm seeing 15-20 second lag continuously. I can barely loot cans, let alone fight. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Support fixing the EVE UI |

CCP did not place a single trade hub anywhere, we did. It's not their problem if players congregate in one area. Secondly, mission hubs are the same, you do not HAVE to use whatever specific agent you're using, corporations tend to have many agents spread out across the galaxy, surely 1 of them is in a non-lagged system?

Human nature dictates that we'll all cluster around the best agent. Or a single trading point. You'll never solve it by trying to convince people to go to a lesser agent. In masses, they just will not do it. WoW had the same problem with the cities. Everyone went to Irongforge. The other cities were complete ghost towns until they connected all their auction houses.
There are two ways to fix it: 1) Throw more hardware at it or try and work around the problem with a technical solution 2) Create more equally good agents elsewhere
The first solution is either expensive, difficult or both. The second sounds like a few simple SQL insert statements, so why the hell not? ------------------------------------------------------------------- Support fixing the EVE UI |

The only problem with 2 is again human nature. Say they release more agents, the exact same level, quality and system sec status. Within a week I guarantee there'll be a consensus that one of these agents is ever so slightly better than the others, and you'll have the same problem. I can't give any specific examples since I don't know exactly what agent you're talking about, but it'll end up exactly the same- the vast majority of players screwing themselves over, and people smart enough to go to the second best agent in an empty system will rake in the isk hand over fist

There are 101 peeps in Salia and the lag is huge. It's not playable and CCP is responsible to provide a playable game. I find this type of nonsense response to reflect someone who can't understand the frustration lag presents to a player. I find the CCP "Need for Speed" to be laughable when the lag increases with each new patch.

Not at all.
There's only one factor that determines the "quality" of an agent and it's qualifyable, obvious and easily found.
Just look up caldari navy, and for the best command agent. There's only one and it's quality level is five points higher than the next best one which is two jumps from motsu meaning they can both spawn missions in the same system! Guess which system that is! It starts with 'S' and ends with "aila"!

I'm quite aware of the frustration lag causes for players, hell, I came within inches of losing a ship the other day because a sudden lag spike stopped my ship responding to a warp command. However, lag is personally not that big an issue because I make it a habit of never going where the lag is. I avoid jita, I can purchase stuff elsewhere. I'd avoid saila if I was a caldari navy runner, there are agents elsewhere.

If it's kill missions you're after, there's also a 17 quality internal security agent 10ish jumps from motsu with a hell of a lot less pilots in the system. Granted, more agents would be a good thing, but in all honesty I don't see them fixing anything. Unless they're 5 jumps away from jita and in a good sec status system, I doubt anyone would move, people are always going to seek out the best possible agent regardless of whether they earn less due to lag than the other guys, it's not something that's going to change

The feeble LP store rewards for the minmatar+gallente faction had a bit to do with the lag increase too, I'm sure of it.
I'm not the only one who packed up and moved 3 accounts to grind Caldari agents instead of relatively lag free Minmatar agents.

I think the OP stating that CCP placed a trade hub somewhere pretty much shoots his credibility down the drain.
Saila and motsu have been like that for long enough that you could have started planning around it months ago. There's no real need to go there, there are other agents, the LP are now shared. cache it in and move. Big f-ing deal.
I don't think they're all sweatshop farmers. They're people, trying to grind through the lag and refusing to move.

this post wins. there is absolutly no reason for these two agents to be located so close to eachother and next to a major trade hub. the lag is INSANE. it took me over an hour to salvage ONE POCKET.

Not wanting to flame you, but the highest Q agents aren't the best agents because system lag/traffic makes the missions take longer. If I offered to pay you 5% more to work twice as much, you'd be a fool to take it, but that's what everyone in those systems is doing.
I'm guilty of this too from time to time -- I try to keep a few agents open so when I need some cash I can pick and choose missions, and every once in a while I'm more or less forced to spend an hour or so in saila. I find missions in Eitu to be much more pleasant, though. _____ Heat Warfare |

One of the problems with Saila is that the eve autopilot plots courses through Saila over other paths of lower traffic and equal distance. Oichiya is a viable parallel route, for many trips, but the autopilot almost always chooses Saila. Judging by gate activity, at least 20% of Saila occupants, on average, are just passing through. _____ Heat Warfare |

not another whine about this??? Honestly, just move. It would be so much easier.
If you keep complaining for CCP to fix the lag, I'm sure they will. All they would need to do is add an agent Queue, where gents only give out 30ish missions at a time, and and next person wh asks has to wait until on of the other missions ar turned in. Then, if it's his turn, he gets a missions Would easily solve the lag in Salia/Motsu, but would cause a lot more whinning.

There's got to be some balance involved in this, actually. My loot in that area is really bad (woohoo, shield flux coil!) but the same missions from worse agents in empty(er) systems give me a lot of best-named stuff.
Could be luck, but I doubt it. _____ Heat Warfare |

I don't think CNR's are the issue. There's a lot of lock-in with the mission system, so if you start caldari navy when you're a noob you have to defer a lot of income and grind low level missions to switch. It may make sense for the professional mission runner to switch, but people who run a few missions to pay off their pewpew expenses don't really have incentive.
To be honest, though, it's the real professional mission runners (aka farmers) who seem to be clogging up a lot of the mission hubs. I'm in Isenairos right now and half of local are isk farmers. _____ Heat Warfare |

I had to log off eve because Saila was too unbearable tonight. All of a sudden there was a huge lag spike. I got the ever so common black screen of doom. Tried logging back in 4 times with the same result.
30 minutes later I get in but my ship as well as most others in the system we at a standstill. Everyone is complaining they can't even move to get the heck out of the system and at that point I gave up and logged out.
That whole region is screwed up. Caldari Navy has all of it's best agents in either Saila, Mostu, Aramachi, Iserneros and what do you know they are all next to each other.
God help us all because CCP sure wont.

True, but in the time it takes you to get to level 4s, and if you run them for a decent time, you should have a decent enough State standing to make switching corps much easier. Just gotta do all Storyline missions that don;t lead to low sec.
I know when i started my level 4, Ql 16 kill agent, I had never run any missions with the corp whatsoever before, but my 7 Caldari State standing lets me run all level 4's from any Caldari agent.

Introduce asset tax in the game.
Implementation.
Have a monthly tax from CCP/eVe bank on wallet and assets. Taxation on assets are done by moving average of value in assets in market over one month. Apply different tax bands on toons with different values in wallet and assets.
Tax rate is calculated from average player count in system per month. Heavily crowded systems would be taxed up to 40%. Uncongested systems at 10%. System sec. would act as multipliers to calculate tax reductions, 1.0 sec is no reduction and 0.0 sec is tax free on assets. --------- Technica impendi Caldari generis. Pax Caldaria!

As I've suggested before, remove agent quality so people have a reason to spread out.
Or as we need some risk reward ratio:
Three tiers. -15 for agents in 0.8+ 0 for agents in 0.5+ +15 for agents in lowsec ---

Why do people insist on shooting themselves in the foot and run missions in that area? The only explanation I have is the good old Einstein citation:
Two things are infinite û the universe and human stupidity. And I am not sure about the universe!
Really, I am running lower quality agents in lag free systems and I am sure I rake in a lot more cash than the nutcases in Aralagchi, Lagtsu and Sailag. On the other hand, as long as these cattle stay there and don't bring more lag to my system, I am happy so maybe I should delete this post...
