Ok guys heres an idea I only just thought of / remembered.
A good many years ago before high speed broadband was available, video card companies came up with a gimmick. The Gimmick was to do a type of morph to a still image of someones face. The reason was to give a virtual video face while talking via voip. The idea died pretty fast as you can assume because it wasn't long before people had live video / webcams.
Now here we are with EVE, EVE has as we all know, lag lots of lag and limited bandwidth. We also have our own chosen avatard, the image we want people to think we are. From Burly Brutors to Fanatical Ammarians. Now appart from a still image as a small icon, we don't usually see each others faces. So as you can guess.
CCP have done a great morphing system for the faces, it is not a great stretch of the imagination that they could make it move the mouth and give the image of an avatar talking, then you just use the really old voice recognition systems and tie the avatar to EVE Voice. Throw the faces in one of the corners, players choice and allow the player to choose the level of transparency. For an added level of cool, you could have your own avatar somewhere so that when your talking you can see your character chattering just like how everyone else will see it.
Definately a nice added touch.

Lol, we may need to get a simple ultra crappy real time voice changer put in too. Not hard, would actually be kind of nice in of itself.

Well that could actually have positive effects on character choices ^^
Personally I'm no big fan of the gender bender.

I think it has been talked about some time ago, but I can't remember if there was any word from CCP about this.
It could add some value to eve voice, we're many with vent or TS while playing eve...
Also, as we loose the eve connection sometimes or have to relog, it is much appreciated that we do not loose our voicelink and can tell people we are relogging...
Eve voice would maybe need to be more out of eve than it is now, making it way more useful.

This sounds like a really cool idea and the best part is its all client side and its your own computer that is calculating the mouth movements.
But in the future lets go one better, when CCP give us legs make thoes characters talk too. Now how cool would that be :)
