be honest for crying out loud. Pirates are thoise players who get off gacking weaker targets. they aren't smarter or better, they just learned like good trained monkey's how to shoot out a bestower in an appoc.
Seriously like maybe a SMALL percent of PvP players like fair real combat not vulture like popping of littler ships. I mean I was told once by a devout pirate they have one main rule.
"If it is bigger run away, if it is little kill it and take the loot."
So what is this retarded talk of idealism. Of fighting the regional allainces who on the most part are pirates just like bio-mass and M0o. these are people who just like to shoot up others beucase it makes them feel big and talented. Like Tank CEO, seriously podding newbies in new caldari...what a total reject of society. And yet these people claim that is RP..hahahahahahahaha

Look you can preach about wanting to open up space but you don't want that, you want to have more weak an undefended people to slaughter and make you feel big. Regional alliances are better than pirates only that they actually have a form of goverment to communicate with and not all of those in them are pirates. Try getting a deal with bio-mass...I mean this is a copr where one of there memebers posted they were Chewy Chubacca and wrote out that wierd howl roar sound. you want to do buisness with these teenagers?
bah pirates aren't fooling anyone, they get off on feeling big (the whole I'm unpopular in school so I'm going to kill characters to feel mighty)
This game needs conflict to be fun, and the system is great, but I just couldn't sit back and ignore the hypocrisy, it was so thick I had to hike up my boots :) |

it doesn't so much bother me, I just couldn't stay quite after this retarded M0o, FA, FE, bio-monkey thing...I mean how is it RP to name your corp M0o, honestly these are the worse gamers. Thank the gods they at elast keep ship's needing to be produced..so as long as they have there -10 and are forced out of empire space so I dont have to look at there snivling faces I'm happy :)
And NO I didn't take happy pills today, only grumpy pills!!!
Besides people who defend pirates are pirates or pirate alts/slaves :)

No, you are wrong and she is right.
Some 'so called' pirates have serious personality problems if we were to judge them by they actions. And it seems to me that it's the majority of pirate population.
Good thing is that more people are skilled in pirate hunting. So life of a pirate is not just camping and podding, it's mostly running, fleeing, warping, logging routine.
Them picking on a specific alliance is just a proof of their innability to handle serious, organized and dedicated opponents. All know that huge allinaces are the weakest enemy in EVE due to so many different spheres of interesst. Take a look at (late) NVA for example.
So chill and enjoy the future cuz it will be pirate free.

The only problem I have with pirates is the crap they come out with all the time. Their actions ingame are perfectly fine with me. Its just all the "yadda yadda yadda" smack talk thats so dull. Don't they realise they sound like a load of geeks and nerds that are trying too hard?

Not all pirates are like this. The only time I've tried to take down an indy was in an executioner alone, which I failed at. Since I've started pirating I've pretty much gone broke from trying to be brave but to no avail, resulting in pointless ship losses.
The reason that I started pirating was to bring excitment into people's gaming experiences, but usually no matter what tactics I use, people just seem to get ****ed off and hate you forever. It's especially annoying when people take you seriously when you do a hit and run at 3 BS's in a cruiser just for kicks, and they get all flustered and start talking trash. I think I've only had one person tell me their evening was much more exciting, and that was only because they had I dont know how many battleships chasing me in a frigate just because I tried to ransom their cargo cans.
Of the times where I've just engaged someone and destroyed their ship without trying to ransom or anything, I usually just feel like a **** and wish I hadn't. Never helps when a corp declares war on your 1 person wannabe pirate corp and then camps you in BS's.
But ya, so not all pirates are just out to kill everyone.

I don't mind the pirate activity nor how they choose to play. All is fair in love and war.
However, what I do NOT like is some of their attitude that they display to other players and on the forums. Some of em come off as teenage wimps that get their a**es kicked at school so they come here to act out on behalf of their real life fustrations and failures. Bottom line, you can't get rid of em, there is no mom and dad here to wipe their a**es so they are gonna do what they damn well please.
But don't get me wrong. People that choose to play pirate are not always oxygen wasters. I know some pretty cool folks that just enjoy that part of the game.
The trick is to not let it get under your skin. Realize its just a game and find it amusing that some of these lil terds have only these kinda things to feel good about.

Why locked? she explains perfectly how 99& of the pirate populace behave... for them "pvp" is ganking lone indies or camping some place. and dont forget the "yadda, Yadda, Yadda" in local and on the boards.

respectfully, this very much applies to non-pirates as well, it isn't a pirate only phenomenon. I've had to fill out a couple of harrassment petitions due to the behaviour of some of my victims who don't know how to control themselves. I understand losing a ship is unpleaseant and I excpect a certain backlash but there are many people who go too far.
I know that wasn't a blanket statement against all pirates though, just making my own feelings known 'sall

Most pirates run from 1v1 with our boys.
You do get some that fight, but its rather rare.
TBH though, most are setup for long range(ganking at 60k), and cant hope to beat ships setup for PVP.
So, we cant really blame them for running.
But as for pirates being the best PVPers in the game, NO CHANCE, most are little kiddies looking for a laugh. u do get some, like tank ceo, xpohoc, the jokers. But most gank in 1 system at 60k, then as soon as a hunter appears, they run to a safe spot and log off.

This whole arguement is pointless. You will find as many smack talking none agressive miners as pirates. It is only because there is so much hype behind pirate actions that it manages to become such a sore subject for some people.
In my oppinion a pirate can do what they likes to anyone if he pleases with no reason behind it at all. After all the NPC rats do the same, and in Empire space aswell!! Its meant to be a game with a diverse social structure and players like this just add to it.
Nobody asks that you enjoy losing your ship or agree with how they play the game, but then you will find there is always someone out there disagreeing however you play.
Just take it easy, its only a game!!

Though pirates add spice to the game, and in that light are 'needed', there's only a few pirates that I've come to respect (which already is a big word). Actually only one comes to mind: drunkenmaster. I've yet to see a self-gloryfying post or thread from him, unlike many others (the bovines). Setec was fun too, shame he left.
Highway robbery is the piracy that everyone would like to see. What is called piracy now is just random killing of weaker targets. That aint piracy, that's mugging. Some rats still attempt to be 'true' to the RPG pirate, most however by going from their posts are just pre-teens or insecure teens needing to feel superior.
It's muggers that make a bad name for themselves. They don't need us non-pirates for that. And thb, with most of the postings from the so-called famous (or infamous) rat corps I just cannot take them serious anymore.

As aspected no normal serious reply from any pirate. Why not? Simply because Purple A. is right.
The only reason to become a pirate is because you find the game to hard to play normally, it is so easy to become a pirate every n00b can do it (as you all have noticed by now).
