Deklein Battle Report 08/07/07
Tonight TRI decided to step it up a gear and welcome our new residents in Deklein, Fallen-Souls, in style. We formed a 60 man gang at 21:00 to meet a Battleship convoy reportedly 100 strong moving from empire up to Ya0, the location of our recently claimed outpost.
The plan was..well, mindless killing. Sniping BS and support was the order of the day, and after our Interdictor pilots caught them jumping 1 system before Ya0 we warped our sniper fleet in and began what was to be one of the longest and most intense battles most of us had the pleasure to fight in.
The battle in 2r- lasted almost 30 hectic minutes, and as of this moment the map shows 71 pilots killed in the last hour. Support loss was heavy on our side and eventually the fight ended with the hostile gang warping off after taking heavy losses in BS numbers, and we were all happy with a job well done, until the remainder of their fleet (20 BS lighter) turned up on the ya0 gate.
Luckily an Interdictor pilot was already in position as they jumped to bubble them, and after 30 seconds of weighing up our odds jumping into them, the well-known "leeroy" tactic was used, short range ammo was loaded and we jumped into them with now more even BS numbers. The server held stable and although we took more losses in this engagement than the first, we came out holding the field.
Now comes the interesting part...
While this was going on at one gate, our Interdictor pilot being a little hungover and without much sleep after the previous nights Eve-meet, warped to the wrong gate - where they were presented with 9 hostile carriers, presumably having made the same mistake and warping onto the wrong gate. They were bubbled, and at the same time our gang held the field on the other gate and decided that it was back to long range and we started work on the 2 remaining carriers at that gate.
This was greater than our wildest dreams - Capital pilots without a support fleet sat in several interdictor bubbles. Fallen-Souls didn't give up however, and brought in several BS gangs at different times to try and divert our attention away from the carriers, and 4+ more carriers joined in the fun, remote-repping our primary target. These fleets were dispatched, and at the same time we gathered as many dreads and carriers as possible to join the party - except for one dread who went into seige at the station, I won't name names but he's Scottish and infamous for his feminine tone of voice.
First shots in Ya0 were fired at 21:44. The fight lasted over 45 minutes in the 2 different locations, and 5 fallen-souls carriers fell at the end.
Thanks to all who made this evening possible, a great end to a fun weekend, and we look forward to the fights in the future.

was a good fight....as we undocked the dreads i pressed f4 by mistake. i missed the entire fight and bumped everyone undocking in siege

Thanks to fully aware megathron crew, i managed to keep the fire down in my ship and fly out of the battle with 9% structure left. Huge apploud to my brave crew members!

I was stuck in Jita buying a new ship, couldn't get on to CJ back up and help because 4-4 wouldn't load :(. I always miss the best fights
