umm .. you can it. Its a well known fact if we whine enough on forums this will get done, if anything my post has probably moved "afk cloaking" to the top of ccps list of things to fix, for all you know.

Personally I think they should dump local as it is. There is no reasonable way someone should know who is in or not in any given system. Local should be no further than a ships scanning range AT BEST. If they want to have "broadcast to local" button so people can choose to be seen, fine. Then this gets rid of the whole issue of afk cloakers.. Which in itself is the stupidest complaint I have ever heard.
It also would open up a lot of possibilities for PvP tactics, and provide a need for advanced scanning skills and even more use of recon ships and tactics.
Dump Local = problem solved.

Yeah i agree with this solution also, this can work both ways for and against the cloaker so its good. I can envision allot .. ALLOT of deaths when this gets implemented one day. :)

That would be cool and all, except you cannot provide protection vs. stealth bombers.
They come in, they range you from about 50k or so, they fire and warp immediately. There's nothing that can be done.

Bombers take a while to lock after decloaking and if they are firing from 50k they cannot warp until the missiles hit or the missiles will not hit . You have plenty of time to warp out and your support ships have plenty of time to fire back . You realise that bombers explode if you just look at them?
The only people who afk cloakers are affecting is people who want to be invulnerable when ratting/mining alone and probably log whenever anyone enters local .
Its 0.0 your friends SHOULD be with you!

Did you read what i posted on first page? It benefits the cloaker because now he can go have happy fun time with there gf, while everyone left in local is left trying to deal with it, this turns into monotonous boring gameplay that is now thrust upon us. Honestly i would love it if 3000 people would tag along with me while i rat just so i could be safe.

Yes they read the forums, yes whining *may* move things up on queue I highly doubt it. CCP has stated that the community does not have as much sway as they believe they do. (I am too lazy to search for the quote). This afk cloak thing is way overblown and some of us are tired of hearing you guys moan about it over and over again, thread after thread, day after day. If it was that important they would sticky the thread. Which they have not done. So please enough already.

There's not even anybody FLYING the damn things
But they can still lock down an entire system for weeks on end.
I rather imagine that even cloaked AFK rookie ships would have this effect if rookie ships could actually mount a cloak....

He cant warp cloaked, so you know when he is coming. Bait him. If he smacks block him. HE CANT DO ANYTHING CLOAKED. And tbh, not everyone wants to dock when they have to go afk. I can think of 100 times in the last week when I needed to go afk in space.

So... Maybe fit for PvP and have ONE other person with you? Otherwise you are a solo pilot, and SHOULD be in danger. Who cares if they are actually going to strike if you are prepared, yes?

Who said anything about a "trap"? Its simple deterant. If there are a few of you then the odds are much against them. You don't need 30 players to defend against a cloaked ship that is already partially nerfed just because they HAVE a cloak. You just need to watch, have a couple of friends and not be stupid. If you are a solo pilot, again you SHOULD be in danger in NO SECURITY space. Again, its no different than us Carebears are told every day
Best idea is remove local. That way you won't be stressed about it and can AFK mine/rat in ignorance

Why would a rookie ship be of any threat? 3 or 4 bs with recon support .. what would you do if you knew these where in your favourite ratting system? Im talking days here .. DAYS. You know when they are on because they smack in local, when they stop and hrs and hrs pass .. you start to think omfg this is a waste of time?
You might catch one or two, but they are just back there the next day .. what then? If you dont have uber numbers in system all day long, it can shut down that system. Think about it.

And this is NOT a problem with cloaks, its a problem with basic game mechanics. Nerfing cloaks doesn't solve this problem.
Push for the ability to defend your ships, not nerf something unrelated.

Yes, even the removal of local would appease me! because like i said this can also be a negative for the cloaker, usually they only pounce when the numbers are very low in system for example.
Im just saying .. give peace a chance! ... and also change cloaking on all non-specific ship types! WHOS WITH ME ?????????????????? .....

/Not Signed - Someday I might actually want to ninja-rat or look through 0.0 space. Sovereignty doesn't need more unbreakable boosts at the expense of smaller groups/individuals.

No they aren't, they are all camping the choke point. Once a chokepoint is locked down all the alliance carebears are supposed to be free to semi-afk mine and rat, don't you know anything?
