Edited by: C601 on 10/07/2007 17:44:56 I think I did everything by the book.
To get away from lag, missions and Jita, selected a 0.0 corp that I was interested in joining, leave high-sec for good.
Max out my skills for a specific ship I wanted to use for pvping with - Check
Completed the Eve/University pvp courses, understand tactics etc.. - Check
Spent months on the Test server fine tuning my ship, pvping with other people, using what I had learned over the last few months, and applying it to whatever I was fighting.
Over the weekend and yesterday, had my first taste, of large scale pvping.
But yesterday was the final straw, rather then go into a long story, saw my 300mil ship outside the station taking damage until it blew up from a battle 30 AUs away that I was not apart of, the only ships around me at the time where blue, nothing was targeting me. 240 in local, could not even dock at the station or move my ship in any direction and not been able to do nothing to get my ship out of harms way. Lots of people in local where having the same issue's as me.
Also not to mention the 5hrs of warping here and there waiting for instructions from the FC in charge. Just a complete waste of time, all for nothing.
Looking at my logs
2007.07.09 22:29:06 ] (notify) Requested to dock at XXX [ 2007.07.09 22:29:06 ] (notify) Setting course to docking perimeter > [ 2007.07.09 22:39:49 ] (notify) Docking operation already in progress.<br>Estimated time left: 27 seconds. Your ship will be towed into station.
After this is when I got blown up.
If this is the best it gets CCP then I have wasted 11 months playing this game, I don't care about the loss of the ship, I can always replace it.
Afterwards speaking to corp mates most lost there ship in the same way I did. I should of known better to log out, but I was hoping things would get better, and wanted to help my corp out and not leave them behind. They told me even though that I warped out and seeing my ship at the station, reason why I could not dock was b/c the server was still seeing my ship at the battle, hence de-sync.
So CCP I ask the question that has been ask time and time again, what is going to be done about this problem, I have not spend hrs upon hrs playing this game earning my isk the right way only to lose a ship in a way I have no control over. The lag was heavy, the De-sync was so bad most ppl lost there ship in the same way I did.
I'm not whining about it, but I think I have a right to know, if this is the best its going to get, then like so many other people, I'll move on to other PC game, where I do not have these issues. While no PC game is perfect, there are a lot that don't have issues like this.
I read and bought into the Need for speed was actually going to work and improve game play, but from what I saw yesterday and over the weekend, you have along way to go, you keep on piling on the amount of players into this game, but when battles over the weekend take place its nothing more then just a lag fest.
So where do I go from here, lose more ships or go back to highsec and be faced with the same problem that I got the impression did not happen in 0.0
Yep, I know its another thread about a problem some of you know what I'm talking about, to the care bears who are considering joining a large 0.0 corp, just remember unless CCP does something major about it, your only going to see the same thing I've seen over the weekend, and see all your hard earned ships and fittings go down the drain.
I await a honest reply.
