I don't know if this is new or something, but after so many years of hunting loggers I just noticed this last night:
Meet mr victim. Mr victim is currently hugging his safespot in his shiny new geddon of phat loot and is waiting for the local hostiles to get bored and leave. Out go the probes, result is found and ze covopsy is in warp. Mr. victim vigilantly watches the scanner and notices the probes about the time the result is found. Mr. victim vigilantly hits ctrl+q.
Unfortunately for mr victim covops notices the logoff and decloaks midwarp. That gets mr. victim scrambled before he e-warps. As expected mr. victim dissapears within the know 60secs, long before the gang even comes out of warp (I hate you ccp).
But here's the fun part: Mr. victim decides he wants to be a proper mammary and decides to pull the logon/logoff as soon as he sees us in local. Mr. covops gets some seriously sad and ****ed off nipples. $#^$^&@# But lo and behold! that geddon is still on the scanner after 60 seconds. Mr victim wakes up in the cloning station upon his next logon.
So what happened? My take is that the agression does kick in if you aggro the target when logged, but one of the following two things happens: * The agression timer starts the next time he logs on * The agression timer keeps running and if he logs on and off within that timer he gets the 15mins refresh of you-can-kill-me-now (mr victim logged on/off at approximately 11 minutes after the scram)

I got a hauler pinned at a planet and she logged. So I turned off my targeting on the hauler, ejected form my Thorax and boarded her ship. It was worth passing on the kill mail.
So I guess cross training ships FTW.

Are you saying that ships who's pilods have logged off are boardable?

First time I have ever did that. I figured I was running out of time so I gave it a shot. And presto I was sitting in her ship.

That is so awesome. Wonder what happened when she logged back in? I must test this. Why there should be a breathalyzer to login to Eve:

I remember trying this a few times, didn't work.
The scanner always gives you the "board ship" option, but clicking it doesn't do anything. Also, even if the pilot is logged off his portrait still displays in the ship info if I remember correctly.

That is fantastic. You do realise that if this is true then it changes everything. And I mean EVERYTHING. First time I have ever did that. I figured I was running out of time so I gave it a shot. And presto I was sitting in her ship.

I noticed that same thing not long ago i think it's new
We probed a hulk in 1 of those hidden belt things and the second someone entered warp to him he logged off and disappeared. Logged back on and as soon as he saw the person still there he logged again before he came out of warp but still came out, guy scrammed him but obivously the target vanished soon after. Logged back on and off but this time stayed in space for the full time. killed and poded. Nice work My Bone of probing goodness
Doesn't stop the logoffskis who stay logged but stops them logging on and off all the time to either move away or just to see if anyone's there. Step in the right direction.

yep, whenever I have scanned down a logged off ship, it still shows the person in it, even if they are not in local, so no boarding.
But....I like what the OP is saying, so if they log in and out to check...it seems they are getting the agro from the attempted scram, and then stay...hmm..nice

Hehe....waited almost three hours for that Hulk pilot .
The mechanic seems a bit strange from time to time but in this case the pilot logged back in prior to aggro timer expiring giving himself a nice timer reset and a free trip to the clone vats sans implants .
The same thing happened to a frieghter pilot who pulled similar junk at a gate....that video can be seen in our forum open section. Not only a tasty TASTY kill of an unscouted losec logoffski capital-class transport but the screams of sheer joy on vent were priceless .
And then the Caracal pilot who logged in a belt. We left an inty sitting in the belt while we moved on-sure enough he logs back in and lands on top of the inty....tralalala BOOM .
To be fair I think the mechanic is working decently. I cannot remember ANY ship or pod logging under aggro getting away as long as a handy covops/recon pilot was nearby .
