When one client sees two other players/clients being 10 km away, and the two other clients sees the first as beeing 100 km away.

Is it because the servers signals the clients where to move, at what speed to move at - but not it's position in space? Is it the lack of fixed coordinates being returned to the client? At least while testing for bugreporting this, we've seen that sort of indication of lacking support for absolute coordinates.

Desync isn't a matter of the server or client individually messing up anything, it's a loss of communication between server and client - basically information transmitted to the client never makes it, but the server assumed it did because the client never says otherwise (lack of implementation or the bug itself I'm not sure). So what ends up happening is that the client thinks you're one place and the server thinks you're another place. Then if you try to issue any orders it won't work properly, because the server will think you're trying to warp to something right next to you or approach an object 20AU's away.
