Coming from 2.5 years of WoW, I'm very accustomed to mods and making my UI more efficient for faster access. So after 2 weeks of EVE, I've noticed a few quirks about it's UI that are starting to... well, **** me off. Can anyone suggest fixes for them or tell me if they are unchangeable? Is there an EVE mod site somewhere?
1. My "show info" windows keep opening in the top left corner of my screen. I run my resolution at something like 1720x950, so it's very annoying to always bring my arrow all the way up there to move the box down all the time. The box in the settings window for "keep show info location" is checked, and i unchecked, accepted and then rechecked to make sure it wasn't just bugged.
2. It appears that the Overview is one of the most frequently used windows during combat, and yet I cannot move it closer to my ship for faster access, how can i unlock it's location?
3. Running at such a high resolution makes the fonts very small. I've maxed their size to 12 and expanded them in the settings window, but still things are tough to see on a 40" screen sitting 4-5 feet away. Is there anyway i can scale the UI or increase the font size further?
4. Is it just me, or wouldn't it be REALLY helpful if after you pressed an icon on the neocom to open a window, if you pressed it again it would close? Is there a way to make this happen? Hunting down tiny little X's on windows is not fun.

1-3) No, there's nothing you can do.
4) That would be nice, but I haven't heard anything about it. You may want to check out Features and Ideas down below to see if there's anything about it.
I used to get It.
Then It changed.
Now I don't even know what It is.

Welcome to EvE, the worst designed UI in all of MMO-dom.
1) It's a know bug. It used to remember where it was supposed to stay.
2) Unfortunately no.
3) See #2.
4) It would be great.

CCP has, from what I gather, not supported any modifications of the UI because it would give unfair advantages. We all have the same UI to battle with which means in that aspect we are equals.
The EULA prohibits the modification of the client in any way. I think it is because they don't want macros ruining the game for the real players. As it is now there are only a couple "shortcut" addons that are allowed such as the Logitech G15 keyboard etc.

As a three-year WoW player since closed beta having come to Eve, I recommend you forget pretty much everything about how WoW works. What you'll find is that you really don't need to change the UI much. Now, the font sizes, that's a huge issue for me too. At least they let us crank up the font sizes in chat at least!

Yeah, I've already separated my thinking from wow; it's not hard, there no grinding in eve! lolol
