that is smaller than a cruiser?
I have been looking around, and just wanted to see what the general consensus is. Just for fun I want to get into something fairly small but can really dish out some dmg... at the cost of tanking.. or whatever. Actually if anyone knows of a build for the small, but high dmg dealing ship that is fairly balanced as far as not being a glass cannon that info is welcome also. Once I start getting some specific ship names I will start looking at them in detail and learn what I can.

Heretic or Ishkur.
Ishkur being my personal favorite. With Max drone skills and small hybrid/gunnery skills you quintessentially have 8 very powerful tech2 guns all focused on a single target. Great against anything from another frigate to a battleship, or even a cap if you're in a size able gang.
Heretic just because I have one and its the only ship in my hangar thats more than 3 months old, has been in massive battles, and is still intact. The heretic can really dish out just as well as it can take, truly great for more than just the sphere launcher.

Coercer maybe? With max skills, 8 Medium Pulse II's, and 3 HS II's it gets 335 dps. -------------

i had to drag myself all over eve once to get to a fleet battle all i had available was a thrasher t-1 fitted so i set it for frig/cept killing with 250's packed it full of ammo and ended up in a 2 day long running fight
walked away with 76 kills and my ship intact
nobody tries to kill destroyers they are always an afterthought

Taranis would be my guess in terms of DPS, bombers hvae the big hits but really slow refire rate and apparently the new bombs can be shot down before they go off. Crow does alot of damage too, its a very good solo ship as you can stay at range and be less susceptible to stuff thrown at you. If youre looking for tech 1 ship I would go with the thrasher, its pretty cheap and actually quite dangerous when properly fitted. _________________ [SAK] Alumnus--And Proud Of It! -- aka Cpt Bogus Is that my torped sig cloaking your base?

A small, high damage, non-tanking ship would have to be a destroyer. The Coercer is pretty good at it but good luck surviving any engagements with people in anything other than a t1 frig. ---

Ships don't do damage!
Ship+Modules+Skills+Velocity+Transversal+Chance do damage.
And i probably missed some item in that list too
I could tell you to go fly a wolf, but if you don't have skills for it that would be a lie. And if you use it wrong you would be doing less damage than for example a Burst. So Taking the above in concideration, your question is impossible to answer unless you specify what you can fly (what lvl), what modules you can use (lvl) and how you plan to fit those ships and how you plan to use them.

Stealth bombers and titans can deal allmost unlimited amounts of damage in one blow. And stealthbombers are smaller than cruisers.
More realisticly I would think destroyers are hard to beat when only counting T1 ships. And for T2 the dictors and some of the assault frigs would have to compete. A gank taranis does pretty well too.
And why isnt this thread under ships&modules?

If you had said smaller than BS I would have said Phoenix or Chimera but as you said smaller than Cruiser I'd say a Destroyer would fit the bill, though they are made out of thin paper, if we extend to t2 then I'd say one of the AF's would be the most damaging... --- I had a cool siggy but it had the wrong corp in it, then my server died :( |

Ishkur or Dramiel are, IMO, the best frigates in game. Have both, and prefer the Ishkur since it's a bit more versitile.
I also like the Wolf, which is, again IMO, the most bang for the buck, at 5 million ISK.

Although I agree with you in general, I'm not sure most players would be willing to plop down 75 M ISK for a Dramiel.
To the OP, the Ishkur is a really nasty little frigate.

Considering a non dmg mod sabre does 200 DPS with 7x 200mm Autocannons i`d say it is one of the most damaging below cruiser sized`s.

depends how much HP the target has. stealth bombers can fit 3 cruise launchers, each cabaple of hurting with <40m explosion radius. so if we're talking low HP targets here... stealth bomber is the way to go =)
otherwise, id personally go for blarpy or wolf (cause it looks great ;] )

As far as I can tell, and correct me if i am wrong but
Ishkur for solo or near solo Retribution can be fitted for gangs Heretic for frigates, and other destroyers
and of course stealth bombers I looked them all up Purifier, Nemesis, Hound, and Manitcore... Other than the names and shape of the ships what is the difference between them? The stats look really close to the same to me, but when it comes to pvp I am not really sure what I should be looking for.

To the OP... Not to derail you, but at this point I'd advise you to go with the ship you can get into quickest. Most probably a Destroyer. Just realize that the hull on a Destroyer is made of tin foil. Of the T2 ships the AF is the quickest training time. The reason I say this is because no matter what well meaning advice you get here (it's all been good) you need to get your ass out there and do PvP. Just pick one.
Most likely you'll end up flying them all anyway if you stay with EVE, and if you don't the anguish is pointless.

Yeah, but you can't fit much else. A Retribution will do 261 dps but will have alot more survivability. -------------
