Effectively we've got an unfriendly interceptor pilot who is resistant to all of our attempts to, er, regulate him :)
So I've just fitted a disco-domi, and set myself up outside the station. Try to pop off the bombs when he undocks and the thing says 'you cannot activate this due to interference from the station within 5000m' But the range of a large smartbomb is 5000m.
How does one smartbomb a station if the undock point is not within the explosion radius, or am I missing something obvious.
(Not posted with the main, in case the quarry actually reads the forums)

Thats why you cant bomb within 5000, and why the stations collision boxes mean you cant bomb undock even w/ officer bombs.

Grrr...is there a similar restriction on a gate? Or can you just blast away there. I know tiller does this, but does he use officer smarties to get the range, or is there something else I've missed?

on a gate you bomb targets as they pass you... you have to sit just beyond the range of your bombs. For example, 5k bombs, you sit 5-5.5km from gate towards the warp in icon (usually another gate)
as they ship appears on overview hit f1-f8 in quick succession as hope for best... you adjust your timing depending on module / net lag.
once you have the hang of it all targets die...

Not enough CPU to fit a tank with that vexor setup... would work nice on a domi though.

um i think the reason he wants to use smarties is cause the ceptor pilot warps before they get a lock. not sure what drones are gonna do when he warps out.

Some outposts don't have this restriction however...allowing carrier pilots to undock and unleash officer smart bombs immediately killing interdictors...then redock.
Hope CCP eventually fixes that
