So I'm chocked that most players today never heard of the of the now inactive famous and infamous corps such as m00, etc
IĈm sure some of you wonĈt think my example deserves recognition. But is there some kind of records etc that shows us what these corps accompliced etc?
Please write or link in this post, info about those old corps that you think deserves recognition. ... that is if there isn't any good thread allready on the topic

Too bad CCP haven't kept a universal log of all the activity that has taken place on Tranquility. It would be sweet to be able to check out old battles or whatever with VCR like controls.
Of course, such a log would be massive to say the least.
Once NOL has been purged with cleansing fire, and all the vassals are put to the sword, I'm sure we'll have a lovely little cold war, your bloc and ours.

Its a timing thing IMO, And isn't it the job of us more vetran players to pass on the legends?
I just got done telling a few of the newbies in my corp about the GCHS and EVE-BANK scams. Personally, I find m00 stories come in handy around the campfires, though I never experienced them firsthand.
And of course you have the great stories about the Alliances that once were... Its hard for some newbies to imagine a 0.0 realm where the major divisions (NC/SC/BoB) didn't exist and everyone hated everyone else :)... ahhh the good ole days.

Back in early 2004 m0o could bring alliances to their knees whit 20-25 pilots online. no other corp can really dead or alive (not even BE) say that.
As for legends, yes m0o is one legend, atuk is another one. zombie I think they were called would because of the yulai incident and to some jokers were a legend corp back in the day, lots of old corps that will never be forgotten as long as their players that played when they were around back then.

I remember a time I was being chased by 5-10 m0o, they got me cornered in a system and said in local "PAY ISK OR DIE!!" So I sent them 1 isk. they said "thanks" in local and left, lol. Good times indeed. Say what you will about them at least most of the time they were honorable, unlike most groups today *cough*goons*cough*

http://youtube.com/watch?v=BnjK5EVsIfI <- them taking over Yulai which at the time was the equivalent to Jita today.
The GNW will always have a special place in my heart its what really made me realize how much diffent this game was than any other MMO. Its the backdrop that gave birth to BoB, Jade Constantine's banning, spy warfare, and CAOD drama bombs. Oh and D2 was G and liked to fight.

Lets be clear here about what it was mOo did in its hay day.
They were the best small gang warfare corp next to Zombie, they were great at terrorizing the noobs that populated eve back then, and they did have some very smart cookies in the corp that made all that happen.
Now lets clear up some myths before you build on any of them.
They were only able to scare alliances because back then you had to come out and defend your space, if you did not a lone Arma could take your station from you in just over an hour. So as people came to fight they killed them, unfortunately comparing this to todays eve is not possible unless we bring 50 dreads with us where ever we go.
They were not very good at adapting, they died a very early death like most unsuccessful corps majority of their good members realized this and jumped ship to Evol and such.
They were not very good at killing targets that were there to fight them, instead of the surprise attack. I have been on the receiving end of mOo gank squads in the past, and can honestly say they were not that scary when you were not in NPC gear.

I don't believe they were only good at ganks.
I was in the CFS Navy before stations were conquerable and the only way to protect your space was to hold the empire choke points. I cant remember the main system in querious but many a time i was leading a relativity large fleet of ships camping the gate when 20 m0o in there apoc's would jump in and a massive warp in /warp out /warp in 2 hour fleet fight would happen. Most of the time they broke our camp, sometimes we held out. It was not just ganks. They had more than fire power and good tactics, they had a demoralizingly aura "m0o heading this way" sent chill's down your spine.
On a side note one of my best moments in eve was when i ran into negotiator in a pest and i was in the ultimate shield tanking Scorp of pwnage and he was doing f**k all damage and had to warp off :D
