Ok, I don't do a lot of missions, but this evening I got one called "The Blockade" level 3 mission, quality 16 or so.
I found it to be pretty much impossible in a regular Raven outfitted with mostly tech II items, 2 invuln IIs, 1 EM II, 2 Ballistic Control System IIs, 2 Power Diagnostic System IIs, Damage Control II, 6 Cruise lanchers (using paradise cruises), small NOS, tractor beam, also 3 of the capacitor recharging rigs.
The whole place would aggro me and they could hit from 100km+! These were cruisers and stuff that I didn't think should be able to hit from that far. Is there a specific strategy to this mission or something that I messed up? Thanks. --Xenius |

Edited by: Iilludari on 14/07/2007 00:56:13 Well, first off: Search is your friend :)
Secondly, yes there is a tactic. In each wave there is one ship (of the largest type) who is different from the rest, killing that ship spawns the next wave (4 in total) so making sure you kill the trigger ship last in each wave, will ensure you never being overrun.
AFAIK you should rule the mission at level 3 in a Raven (am a Dominix pilor myself) I used to have no or small problems at best with my Myrmidon.

Would have to agree. When I flew a Cyclone that mission wasn't really a big deal.
Watch for the trigger ships and don't set them off too early. Other than that its really good for an L3 mission.

FYI, in the lvl 3 version, the first trigger is actually a frigate iirc.

as long as you don't hit the spawn trigger it is doable in an unrigged t1 fitted drake

I was doing that mission recently in a Drake. I didn't pay attention to any triggers, so I had to warp out a few times, but besides that, no problem.

You shouldn't really have a problem running any level 3 in a Raven with tech2 fittings
If you are struggling, I'd recommend you use an in game mission database for extra information about the mission.

Use a Drake. Better tank than a Raven and heavy missiles are better for dealing with all the small stuff.
