Hey all,
I'm thinking of starting running missions for one of the less popular factions of the EVE universe, namely the Serpentis. Being more or less a newbie carebear for now, I have no idea what implications it might have for my security/faction standings within the empire. Is it possible to more or less balance it out? By that I mean running some missions for Serpentis, lose standings with empire factions, go back to Serpentis etc...
I'd be grateful if someone could outline this for me, thanks! :)

I'm quite sure you can run mission for all factions if you like by balancing who you work for.
I don't, however, think it's a very brilliant idea.

If you find a good serpentis agent then I would go for it, last time I checked you got bigger isk reward from the agent (not usually any bounties cos your fighting concord a lot) and you get loads more loyalty points. You will lose a lot of standing with factions, mostly with Gallente and Concord. Dunno if you do them too much then gallente police officers may shoot you if you try and enter their space...

No you cant actually. Losses for doing a storyline mission for serpentis will be bigger then the gain. So a 10% increase with serp would be a 15% decrease with the Gallente Federation. Now do a storyline mission with the Gallente and you end result will be -5% standing on both

only if you get say a shipyard theft type mission rather than a fed-ex mission the numbers of fed-ex's far outweighs the storyline kills in empire factions atleast

Have fun getting to Serpentis Prime and the surrounding systems...last time I was there it was less than friendly in fountain.
