Corporate Background: (Click) Taggart Transdimensional Incorporated was founded before Beta by Ragnar Danneskjold, John Galt and other friends. You might think our name familiar if you read Ayn Rand. Her famous book "Atlas Shrugged" is the basis of our Capitalist philosophy and the backbone of our merit-based award system. In that book is the story of Taggart Transcontinental, a railroad corporation that, using opportunity methodology and Capitalist philosophy, earned a vast fortune, tipping the balance of power in their favor, and winning the day for their employees
The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities. - Ayn Rand
Money, money, money...- ABBA
* Wo-men with spunk are also welcomed.

does your corp supply members with stuff or pay them for their duties so they can buy their own stuff? (ie: after a mining op split the ore amongst miners give the particpents isk in value of their share or corp members dont see a dime but have access to alot of stuff?)

Thank you for your interest Chronicon. The corporate entity Taggart pays cash for services (such as scouting mineral belts) or products (minerals). For a mining Op, Taggart buys the minerals, the miners split the profits. If you need 'stuff', Taggart will provide you with a loan for the 'stuff' :) ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Join TTi! *waves his hand in your face in the jedi way* |

If theres a BP for that ship in stock. Otherwise, go out and buy the cheapest you find and take a 3% weekly interest TTi loan on it. ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Join TTi! *waves his hand in your face in the jedi way* |

I distinctly recall not being paid for scouting.
Add to it that the now vice-ceo MarkA was unimpressed when I shared his hidden belt with the rest of TTI and its no wonder the DoE saw a practically non-existant pay check. (I do remember once being offered some skills, but as I didn't need any I didn't get any).
Oh, and got paid 1 monthly sum out of 3 months working for HR.
Still, you'll get paid for services if you are seen to be doing it. Just jump around a lot to make your self noticed.
(p.s. I was going to tell you to ignore the horrible out-of-date and most un-informative website, but its broke anyway) ___________________________________________ Join in the NEW Sci-Fi Quiz |

As has been said, love em or loathe em, its good to see the original megacorps rebuilding again...things could get even more interesting.

Well, I have to admit, its a damn good recruiting spiel. And futhermore, I am very glad to see TTI back in the game as a growing concern. They were fun to work with, fun to fight and plot against, and love them or loathe them, they bring a lot of colour to the Eve universe. In recent months we have seen far too much nonsense from pirate bands and psychopath corps and its about time we saw some genuine capitalist megacorps reforming and taking another shot at the big time.
Good luck chaps! (And I'm sure that Gunny and Mark know that my encouragement in this is absolutely genuine)
Love and peace

I don't doubt TTI has changed. And in large its thanks to Gunny.
TTI was lacking severe leadership when many execs decided to take a break, but not resign. In fact, in contemplating open rebellion or desertion, they still didn't resign.
Those forces are gone for now, and I'm glad to see TTI recovering again. ___________________________________________ Join in the NEW Sci-Fi Quiz |

The members of Taggart have done what was called impossibleà we have turned the most hated and hunted corporation in EVE around and made it a respected and well thought of Corp. again. IÆll take my share of the credit for that feat.

Ah, I was merely pointing out that the CEO of TTI hasn't actually himself gotten around to reading the book from which the former TTI was built up. Nothing wrong with that, as you said it is a different TTI. One could obviously wonder why you chose to stick with the name when you haven't even read the book, and as you said it had its share of bad PR in the past.
Most of the people I've spoken to who left TTI don't seem to care anymore what happens to the corp, it is for many just another corp out there, which is also why I think those that whine around do so, afterall we never wanted to be yet another corp, and as anyone who was there during the first year of TTI's existence will tell you, we sure as hell weren't yet another corp out there.
I do recognise that it must have taken a fair share of work from your side to keep the company in the game from the position you took over from when Ragnar had to leave due to RL stuff, for that one can only praise you. Keeping the corp alive is a feat, and I know only few people who might have been able to pull it off. Still, for many oldtimers who were in TTI when what you call the old TTI was still in exististence look at the current "new TTI" they see yet another corp, which just happens to bear the insignia and name of TTI, and I fully understand how that to many can can seem frustrating or even angering, afterall it is the same name they associate with those "good old days" but aside from that shell of name, signature and look it is as I said just another corp. I think anyone who was there during the first year of TTIs existence will agree that it was anything but yet another corp.
You were asking what aside from being profitable and having fun there is, in that regard I assume my views are also fairly tainted by that first year of building the corp from the early beginning towards that clear vision that we had. While having fun and being profitable is enough for you, and most people playing the game for that matter, mediocracy was never something we wanted to settle for, "Strive for perfection, settle for excellence" in many ways describes what we worked for, we never wanted to be just another corp, we never said fun and profits would be enough, but as you say things change and I can see how that change will anger and sadden people who were there working towards that perfection, only to see the same corp name now living and aparently enjoying mediocracy. That said the future awaits, and perhaps some day TTI will once again be more than what it is now, until that day and realisation comes I hope you'd atleast read Atlas Shrugged, as it would help you, even if you choose to keep the new TTI as it is, if only for the understanding of the past...

Yes, it was afterall our goal to try to destroy everything we had spent hours every day building up from scratch for over a year....
-.-
That you enjoy the new TTI is great, that doesn't change the fact that it is but a shadow of what it once was, another corp in the sea of similar midsized corps that is out there, nothing more, nothing less. It's like living in a suburb with the 2.4 children family, for some it's enough, others want the penthouse apartment in Manhattan and Ski Lodge in the Rockys...

Quote: Yes, it was afterall our goal to try to destroy everything we had spent hours every day building up from scratch for over a year....
You just don't get it. The reason why it is a shadow of what it once was, isn't because of who is in it now, or who leads it now, or even our direction now; it iss because of where we took it from. The old reign left TTi on the brink of destruction. There was nearly nothing left of the 'greatness' that old TTi was. Just a name that the rest of eve associated with dog **** you scrape off of your shoe.
You claim that it took over a year of hard work to get old TTi to the greatness that it once was. Today, we are fighting a similar battle. We are building TTi to greatness from the dust. Any base that we might have had was easily negated by the problems we were left. And, in case you missed it, an old disgruntled member took it upon himself to strip what assets were left from old tti and assets that were built from new tti. And in case you missed it, old TTi still supports this member.
It took you over a year to build TTi up to greatness. Don't ***** when we aren't there yet after 3 months.
I am not going to continue this topic any further on this thread. If you wish to contact me to resume, you know now.

-.-
That you enjoy the new TTI is great, that doesn't change the fact that it is but a shadow of what it once was, another corp in the sea of similar midsized corps that is out there, nothing more, nothing less. It's like living in a suburb with the 2.4 children family, for some it's enough, others want the penthouse apartment in Manhattan and Ski Lodge in the Rockys...
So what's your point? Ok, so we don't have as much fame and fortune as Ragnar did.
You talk about how Taggart is striving to be 'just another corp.' Well, let me ask you this. What about Chung Kuo? Who has heard of them? Not that many people. Do you just want to become another mediocre corporation in the world of EVE? Ever hear of the phrase 'practice what you preach'? Just my thoughts on things.
As for TTI. We don't want to become 'just another corp.' One day I hope to see TTI back at the top. Now, if we have to take a slower route to get there, then so be it. But that is our goal.

I joined TTI when we were in Venal, and I'm still striving to make TTI the Best corp in the game. I expect excellence from myself in RL, and project this into my gaming hobbies. I strive to be an excellent member of TTI, and am trying to make it the very best Corp in the game. I feel like we are still leaders in taking initiatives, and am proud of the steps we've take to be Leaders in EVE. Even though we've become small and not as rich as we were at our peak, we're still striving for excellence, in all our activities, including recruiting; we only want the very best EVE players. (got to put in a plug for recruitment, after all this is a recruitment thread ).

I would just like to say that TTI is a pretty good corp. Very helpful if you're new and a good opportunity to take part in all aspects of mining if that's what you're into. If not there's tons of other stuff to do. There's something for everyone.
Just wanted to recommend TTI. Ever since I joined I've found it great! -----------------------------------

Quote: So when is the TTi "Navy" going to fight again?
We conduct operations regularly, and offer training to our less experienced recruits, to help them get what they enjoy out of the game. To futher Pulgor's post, there are many other things than mining in TTi! /me hasnt mined for a good while
TTi is as diverse as most large corporations, with activities in Trading, Mining, Defense, Production, Research, and we also try to hold some events to give a welcome break to those a little bored with the major EVE disciplines.
In addition to TTi membership, you are obliged to pay no tax on your earnings, not a penny. Instead we employ a 'share ownership' scheme, a somewhat novel concept in terms of the vast majority of corporate funding policies found in the game.
For miners, our industrial division maintains a fair price list on which it will buy your minerals from you, whether you trade or mine, and we produce a wide range of equipment.
For traders, our industrial furnaces are always burning, and this provides you with the chance to buy and re-sell goods made, and secure orders for produce. Our demand for minerals and components also open the avenue for careers in shipment, speculating, and component/mineral dealership.
For industrialists/researchers, Rearden Industrial is always seeking good producers/researchers to keep up with the demand for blueprints and products. Our vast list of contacts have orders to be filled, and careers can be made helping produce equipment under our HQ or branching our operations out to un-tapped markets.
For the military (my favourite), as previously mentioned, we conduct training and live operations regularly, and tactically advise our newer members. In times of peace we conduct live training excercises and hunt NPC's, and at times of war... well... you know the rest.
At the moment we are seeking players from all backgrounds, with any level of experience. We currently have a heavily weighted US populus, and would like to take on some more GMT (and surrounding) players to help even it out, although no-one will ever be turned away because of the timezone they play in. Right now we are looking for mainly combat based characters, but again, we will never turn away recruits merely for their choice of gaming style.
Please contact Golda or Luther Pendragon in-game, or send an email to [email protected] for further instructions. Please feel free to visit out public forums at http://www.taggarttransdimensional.com/forum/index.php and register to indicate your intrest and introduce yourself. The Taggart that you knew is gone. The people that upset you are gone. We are remaking Tagggart for the better. We are moving on to a better place. Thats what this thread is about, its not about you or what happened months ago, whatever that was, i mean, no one remembers.
I've been with TTI since beta, and yes, it has its up's and downs. We are on the up and that why we want people to join us, we want solid people to help us make the future, to enjoy what eve is becoming.

Ok, here a short recap, since some people seem to have problems with reading...
Page 5, TTI recruitment thread, 2004.03.27 11:44:00, Con'Mal from the corp known as Clarity of Purpose comes into the recruitment thread, making a somewhat funny attempt at humor :
Quote:
Clarity Is looking for a noob corps to merge with
To GunnyP especially I'd like to point at the order of words in this sentence.
Clarity, that is the corp he belongs to is looking for a noob corp to merge with. Not as GunnyP put it
Quote: some yahoo posting that he wants to join a noob corp
Now I can understand that reading is tough at times, but the fun then continues. GunnyP invites Con'Mal to the taggart channel. This is when I thought it was just to funny, which I also promptly commented with my post @2004.03.27 13:30:00.
Then follows some yadda yadda, Necro makes a fun poke at Clarity, which Gunny then agrees on. (One could discuss whether a corp CEO should call another corp noob on open forums but that's not the issue here....)
As usual GunnyP follows this with an attack on me, along with something about bumping threads(which btw is against forum rules). Dreamworks throws in his own commentary and GunnyP sees the need to continue his rant about me, followed by another reference at me bumping his threads. Necro expresses some of his views before LostChylde deems it fit to be the third post on the same page trying to insult me.
My name is not Lomex btw, it's Li Shangyin or if you are on some other form of communication then it might be DStroy. Lomex is someone quite else. And no, I don't see any bitterness or even hatred. Just critizism at how a corp I spent a year of my life helping build has succumbed into the very hell that I hoped it would never fall into. It is as you say, the TTI I knew is gone, and that is the very same thing that I have a need to comment on. It is however sadly not the case that the people who upset me are gone, because they are the people who still are here, and yes that includes you. I know you have been there since the beta, I read through your application at some point afterall, at the same time I question whether I should have voted a no back then because your blatant acceptance of what TTI is now shows how little of the TTI values of then you really cared about. It is as you say,I have moved on, enjoying EVE, evolving.

The above quote contradicts the below quote.
Quote: It is as you say,I have moved on, enjoying EVE, evolving.
If moving on and evolving is trolling your old corp's recruitment threads and complaining about how things are not what they used to be, then I must be looking at the wrong dictionary. You are hoping that you have moved on and evolved, but the truth is clear.

DStroy, that post flows with bitterness. I do not understand why you have such a disgust at Gunny & his work? Yes mate you were part of TTI for a long time and yes it has changed but please remember Gunny's position. He was handed the corp when we were fighting the majority of the universe (i could be very critical of the whereabouts of certain other directors were at this point and where their leadership was, but no i appreciate people are not perfect and that we all have our reasons) when he had just been made an executive.
GunnyP then proceeded to do this best and hardest thing for Taggart. Swallow pride and start again, yes i can admit and i'm sure they can also that TTI's productivity fell 10 fold. Yes TTI stopped being the mega corp they once were (although this was the case long before gunny took over).
Taggart was in the dirt mate, and Gunny has picked them out of it, and in quite a fashion i must say, please move on from it fella, i miss the old taggart just as much as you do, but i understand that the new taggart is just as important and frutiful as the old one. The corp could enter it's second golden age, something we'd all want, so let them be DStory. Reverend Necrona |

ok, I remember you now, dstroy.
First off, if you had truly "moved on" so to speak you would not be posting and making bitter attacks on every single thing TTI does. Truly, that is some twisted logic to even make that type of statement.
Ya, i remember you now, Dstroy. you were one of the useless MD liasons who never replied to all the eve mails, and out of game emails i sent when i was volunteering for Mulligan Defense. When we most needed you to do your part for the corp, you failed utterly.
AS for as my entrance into TTI, well, i stayed loyal, I didnt detag, I stayed true. I didnt ignore my duties and responsibilities to my corp and friends. I stayed the course when people like you were dropping out like flies when we were at our darkest hour.
All i can say is that TTI wants people who are strong, dedicated, mature, honorable, willing and level headed. and thats all this thread is about, great people working with other great people to have a fun experiance. lostchylde 2004.08.16 01:50:10combatSansha's Minion strikes you perfectly, wrecking for 5.4 damage.

Thanks Deemer. We've had quite a few new members join Taggart in the past few weeks and they are all great additions to the team... welcome to the Taggart family.
