Get out the hankies - this is a sad story.
It was a quiet Saturday morning. I was minding my own business running a few agent missions earning a bit of cash with not a care in the world. Everything was peaceful and tranquil.
I had just got an unusual mission to convey 250 constructions blocks to another station. Unfortunately construction blocks take up large amounts of cargo space so I was obliged to put 8 cargo expanders on my Armageddon in order to fit them all in.
This had the nasty effect of slowing my beautiful ship down to around 70 m/s. However as I was in high sec space in a region with few enemies and just two jumps to make I decided to risk the trip.
I jumped from the station to the gate and discovered that a billboard was unfortunately placed directly between myself and the gate. By the time I noticed the obstruction I was already stuck on it in my very slow ship.
I decided to activate the MWD but it just rocked the ship around in a crazy manner. In fact it took about 3 bursts of the MWD to free myself from the obstruction reducing my cap to under 50%.
Suddenly a warning flashed up. A Biomass pilot in a Megathron had appeared - which was unfortunate as my Corp has an official war with them. With my limited cap and 8 cargo expanders I decided it wasn't the time to fight and headed for the gate using another blast of my MWD to get me there a bit faster.
The Megathron pilot unleashed his drones and short range weapons eating into my shield as I crawled (even with MWD) to the gate.
Luckily I was close enough at this stage to make the jump and I made it into the next system with about 20% of my shield remaining and 35% cap. The system I had jumped to had two stations and I decided it would be wise to dock.
As I had jumped into the system ahead of the pirate, and he had to collect his drones before following, I assumed I would have enough time to make it to dock so I picked a station and entered warp.
This is were sods law stuck again. What I didn't know was the pirate had an autojump to a station in that system and it was an autojump to the very station my slow and battered 'geddon was heading for.
I came out of warp with my cap now even more reduced and found the evil Biomass megathron sitting between me and the station.
I now had a choice - run for station or try and get my slow ass tub aligned and out of there. As there was nothing in front of me to align on I decided to try and get docked.
Unfortunately the 'Geddon didn't make it... The short range battle suited the megathron and his guns and drones ate my shield. My low cap prevented me from activating my XL shield booster more than a couple of times.
My ship went boom mere meters from safety. So close in fact that my pod insta docked. The only good luck I had!
Needless to say I was gutted. As I had been using the ship for 'safe' missions in a 'safe' area where I had never seen an enemy before (and usually was flying around at 1,500 m/s with my overdrives equipped meaning I was normally able to avoid any combat that I didnt want) I had neglected to insure the ship.
Luckily I had enough spare cash to just about pay for a new ship which I duly purchased.

Part 2:
The next morning I was conducting missions in my new 'Geddon when I came across the Biomass again. Luckily this time I had my ship properly equipped and I got past the pirate before he even scratched my shield.
At this stage I decided to activate a more militarily skilled character of mine flying an Apoc. It was clear that the Biomass pilot was also carrying out missions from a station close to mine and I thought it could be an opportunity to ambush him and get some payback.
After about 20 minutes I had my second character placed across the agents route that the Biomass was following. A short time later he warped in and I opened up with the Apoc's guns inflicting over 1,500 points of damge in the first volley.
Unfortunately, the Biomass pilot was too close to the gate and in his MWD equipped Megathron was able to jump past. A short time later he came past again and I followed him to the next gate. He was waiting with drones deployed at the gate (ready to jump out if things got hairy) and they did get hairy - only it was for me after I accidentally hit the stargate and got opened up on by the sentries.
I decided to dock to make some repairs and called on some corp mates to help catch the cheeky pirate. Two colleagues in an Apoc and another 'Geddon joined me.
We again straddled the pirate's agent route and waited for him to pass by. Three times he MWD'd past us - twice appearing as a DERELICT. We had webbers but unfortunately on each occasion the pirate landed just outside the 10k webber range.
Finally we setup another ambush. He skipped past once and we got a few shots off but he was again outside web range. We knew he would be back any second so we prepared our trap, praying that this time he would land within range of the webbers.
In he warped and yippee - he was perfectly placed to be webbed. I opened fire... BUT... in the five minutes since we had last engaged the pirate he had docked and CHANGED CORPORATION!
Now you could say why hadn't we noticed... but in the midst of action it is not always the first thing that springs to mind... and as the pirate had jumped through our blockade as DERELICT at least a couple of times earlier the red tag was not a reliable indication either.
Needless to say Concord was ****ed with us. My colleagues Isiana and Rodj both managed to escape... but unfortunately my Apoc was trapped. I tried to warp out but my ship wouldnt align.
At this stage the pirate somehow ****ed off Concord also. I believe he must have tried to warp scramble Isiana who had not actually opened fire.
The result was one dead Apoc and one dead pirate Megathron.
So there you have it. The story of how I managed to lose two BS in two days! *sob*
Luckily the Apoc was insured (altho not fully) and we did manage to pick up the pirates loot...
I am obviously a bit saddened by this loss and a bit out of pocket - although slightly cheered that the pirate died too...
The main thing though was I had some fun. Now if anyone has a loan for my replacement Apoc fund just let me know

Yeah a cruiser is better for running agent missions if you are running one or two agents.
However I often have 5 simultaneous missions on the go so need the cargo space and the BS also makes some of the kill missions easier

Yep, had another DERELICT incident last night just after I read your post Skillz and I did what you said - it still did not show the Corp... and it also delayed me opening fire for a few secs while I looked...
