DEMO Available Now
DOWNLOAD Available Soon
This is the first public release of the (Sexy) Offline Wallet. Feedback, bug reports and feature suggestions are most welcome, and are what will drive the development of the Offline Wallet. Collaborators are more than welcome, and needed, to help develop it too.
Many thanks to Proton Power for the use of his API Key, without which this DEMO would not be available.
Further work is needed this week to ready the script for a Beta Release, so expect a download to be available by the weekend.
REQUIREMENTS PHP5, MySQL 4/5, GDLib 2

Edited by: Ray McCormack on 16/07/2007 09:37:39 BUGS and LIMITATIONS This is a list of known bugs and limitations. The aim is to have nothing on this list.
- Corporation Update loops through confirmation display.
- CURL is only method of fetching API data.
- Graphs don't distinguish between Sell and Buy orders.
- There is no Home page.

Will you be incorporating sell/buy orders into this as well?
Just wondered if you are could, you make it so it can compare order stock levels with amounts sold, IE ive got 50 of item A and I sold 5 today so I have 45 left so no need to re-order the item.
All these tools coming out I feel like its christmas.
Nice looking tool

Like a real-time order tracker? Or a stock tracker? Both are planned, although I'm delaying the former as I'm hoping CCP add it to the API. The latter would be an add-on that could be populated from your orders or manually updated.

At the moment I am currently have to go through all my sell transactions and compare them to my sell orders in market/sell orders
I Am looking for a way so that I can just export my sales and then import my buy/sell orders and make it nice and easy to know if an item is running low on stock and need to buy more of it, if you get what I mean.
I have 900 sell orders and it takes me a while to go through them all compareing sales with stock level.
I usually do this once a week.
Hope that makes sense.

The colors are very bad so it's hard to get an overview, the date column is unreadable, make it smaller...
And where is a statistics function? This is still only a log viewer... I suggest thinking off some neat features to analyse your sales. ----------------- Destiny is not a matter of chance. It is a matter of choice. It's not a thing to be waited for - it is a thing to be achieved. |

Where can I customize the colors then?
On the left, the dates are always 2 rows, I have a dual monitor at a very high resolution and it stays that way, you have fixed the column width. Even with images of it stays 2 lines.
The average, min and max overview isn't that helpfull imho... it just a small piece of info but not what I was thinking about.
I've started my own tool to reflect my ideas, no open source though

Any possibility of getting 'dumbuser' version where you can just clik at icon and it works ? Did install php and mysql altho as I have never used neither then can't think out anything what to do next.
Just staring at that 'install.php' script. Can write stuff in fortran and python (if i really need to) but this one seems somewhat ... different. I need to compile that script somehow (under windows xp) ?

In the CSS file. One of the ideas is to add this as an interface where users can customise everything.
Originally by: Prime Ori On the left, the dates are always 2 rows, I have a dual monitor at a very high resolution and it stays that way, you have fixed the column width. Even with images of it stays 2 lines.
It is on two rows because I put a <br /> in between the date and time. You can remove this by changing '.$datetime[0].'<br />'.$datetime[1].' to '.$datetime[0].' '.$datetime[1].'. This will need to be done in four different files.
Originally by: Prime Ori The average, min and max overview isn't that helpfull imho... it just a small piece of info but not what I was thinking about.
There is more than an avg, min and max overview. There is a regional breakdown by item, there is a daily, weekly and monthly breakdown of expenditure and income. There will also be a breakdown of transactions over the above periods coming soon, as well as a stock and order tracker. If you let me know what you're thinking I can add it to the REQUESTS list, otherwise I have no idea what it is you're thinking about.

When there is a full release, yes. During Beta the installation procedure will be constantly worked on and fully integrated into the site.
Originally by: Carniflex Just staring at that 'install.php' script.
If you've compiled PHP correctly (on WinXP this can be difficult, my suggestion would be to use WAMPServer) you should see the install.php script lists a few different .sql.gz files. You need to import these one by one, and then delete them. Once you've done that, delete the install directory (no real security risk, but better safe than sorry) and run index.php. If this doesn't help please grab me on irc.coldfront.net (#BIG) or ingame for a chat.

There was a corrupt GZip file in install.zip. This has been fixed and both download locations have been updated. You will need to re-run install.php (only on dbst.sql.gz) to fix this mistake, and should now be able to store data correctly.

You need to update the Journal and Transactions separately. So update your Transactions (from that tab) and then your Journal (from the Journal tab). Either that or run a cronjob on /cron/api.php and /cron/corpapi.php which will do both for you.

An option to disable the "update wallet" buttons would be nice too. So you can set it up for more ppl in your and have a cronjob update the wallet, instead of having ppl updating it manually. Anyway, it's a great tool, nice job.

That's what I did to update the information in the first place. The "update this wallet" button does nothing for me on transactions (says 0 entries added). Updating journal works fine.

If you access the API directly for your transactions from the character sheet is the XML filled with transactions? Can you check /logs/apierrorlog.html and match any errors to the time you tried to update the transactions?

There are no errors in the log, and I can't test if I can download transactions right now because I just tried to update it through the wallet app, and it apparently does at least download the file.
Hm personal transactions says
# error 102: Expected beforeTransID = 381415074: wallet previously loaded.
while corp transactions says
# error 101: Wallet exhausted: retry after 2007-08-01 09:51:56.

Okay, those are expected errors, it means you are at least getting something from it. It's strange it updates the journal and not the transactions as it's the exact same procedure for both. Can you check in MySQL that there is a `wallet` and a `wcorp` table that have a structure?

Ah, I guess that's the problem, I don't have these, but I do have journal and jcorp.
These tables exist in the dbst.sql file I used though so it's very odd that they didn't get created. I've added them now and hopefully it will work!
It would probably be proper to throw an error message when something like this happens.

Yeah, I need to sort something out with the database wrapper. It's auto set to false, but it doesn't seem to throw up errors even when set to true. I'll play around with it some and see what I can come up with.

Seems rather nice app, I just have not got time yet to kick it around enough to get it actually working (granted I have not been trying hard for RL time issues). Somekind of 'beta' stage (does not need to be entirely stable or fully working) standalone version would be rather awesome.

Sure, but only in a later version when I store all settings in a database.

I take it you mean a one-click install version? That'll be around only in a much later release. Functionality first. And I don't think it's too hard to setup and install.
Originally by: xAsmod How's this going?
It's implemented in my current local build. I just need to code some interface filters for it. I've not released it on the SVN yet as it requires a database change, but I'll get an upgrade.zip out over the next few days.
Originally by: Koron Eldoran Edit: Ok the bug was that the php_curl.dll was not active in php.ini.
Yup, PHP needs to be compiled with CURL. In a future release you won't require CURL, but for now you do.
Originally by: Koron Eldoran Edit: Mh this Tool only for the Corpmainwallet not for the other Corpwallets?
Nope, it's for all the wallets. You just need to pick which division you want from the drop-down list.

Another problem may be in update.php; change this line (which occurs four times) : if ($xml->error) { to this : if (!empty($xml->error)) { For some reason that makes a difference on a few compilations, not sure why yet.

Correct, because of the Simple XML function as the CURL function. As it's a beta I'm just running with those for now, the full release will support both versions. For now coding is focused on functionality and sexuality (cough) rather than compatibility. Also, Javascript will be a requirement for the next release; and there's a UI direction change that will deviate from the 'browse' structure that is currently in place.

Oh man, this is just what I've been looking for. I've gotten it up and running, and i LOVE the monthly overview, even though last month was pretty painful (I bought another toon).
If anyone is running into issues with curl on Ubuntu, the fix is to make sure all of the curl stuff is installed, just dropping in php5-curl doesn't do the trick for some reason. Just use this line:
Quote: sudo apt-get install curl libcurl3 libcurl3-dev php5-curl
There are features I'd like to see, but I can't fully put them into words yet, and I'd like to see what else is on your own agenda first anyway.
Again, great work.

I noticed later that it's JPGraph.
It's lib-jpgraph in Ubuntu, but you do indeed need to install gd first, which again in Ubuntu is php5-gd.

It's fairly easy to do, you just need to ensure you've followed the instructions correctly. You can even run it locally on WinXP by installing WAMPServer and then making sure you have php_curl and php_gd2 checked under PHP Settings (easily done with one click from the tasktray icon).

Now i switch the 5.000.000 form Corpwallet one to Corpwallet two.

Edited by: Thraxon on 14/08/2007 11:44:32 I think it would be extremely useful if you split the 'average', 'minimum', 'maximum' prices and volumes in items sold and bought. For example in places where you filter on an item (in transactionss) and when click on overview when filtered. This will enable traders to get a much better insight on their margin for an item.
The filtered view can be switched from both / sell / buy, but the above mentioned prices/volumes don't change accordingluy.

Really nice tool! Good job and thank you very much for sharing it with the rest of us .
I wanted to ask (not being a php pro myself), is there a way to keep the setup.php outside the webroot? In some php forums or websites (like phpBB2 or Nuke) you can put the config.php outside the webroot (ie, unaccessable from outside). If not, then how secure is it leaving my details like this in the setup file?
Thanks.

I had a look at the code when I downloaded it (I have some php experience) and from what I can see, the settings.php can go anywhere in the tree but you'd have to change the code. I've done this with the few php apps I've coded although (and I am very very far from being an expert) I think that the security of this has much more to do with the php setup, error logging and general account security than the location of the file. If you try to access settings.php from a browser, you won't see anything back.
You could setup your .htaccess to stop people from accessing the whole folder if you wanted.

Also, a comparison report, showing which items gave best income and which generated the hugest loss would be nice..

This is a screenshot from my local version. From what I can tell it gives you everything your mod does.
I still need to add support to differentiate between characters for the new multi-character environment. This needs to be a seamless integration, so I was thinking of just placing tabs along the top of the graph. I also want to add a mini-browser in the whitespace to the left of the graph so you can view the transactions that make up the data.
I will wait for CCP to issue a new data dump before releasing a new eveow version, which should be at the weekend.

Since you're tracking all of the sales data, including when/how many items are put on the market, then tracking when they're sold, it would be possible to keep an inventory list of what remains on the market unsold....

1) Install WAMP (for security reasons run in offline mode). 2) In your browser visit http://localhost/phpmyadmin/. 3) Create a new database table called wallet. 4) Left-click on the WAMP tray icon and browse to PHP settings, PHP extensions and make sure php_curl and php_gd2 are checked. 5) Unzip the archives to a sub-directory named wallet in your www folder (default is c:\wamp\www\). 6) Edit settings.php with your API and MySQL information. For WAMP your connection info would be : server = localhost; username = root; password = ; db = wallet. 7) In your browser visit http://localhost/wallet/install/install.php and import each file. 7.1) If you have trouble importing the files, use WinRar to uncompress the .gz files to the same directory. Then left-click on the WAMP tray icon and select MySQL, MySQL Console. In the new console window press enter to confirm a blank password, and then type "\r wallet" and then for each file type "\. c:\wamp\www\wallet\install\filename.sql". Type "exit" to close the console. 8) Once installed browse to http://localhost/wallet/ and visit each wallet to click on Update.

Can someone explain exactly what they mean by this? You can return as many entries as are stored since you started updating your wallet. Or do you mean display an unlimited amount of entries on a single page?

We might have jumped the gun, but what we wanted is for previous records to stay, so that you can see the progression over a year or more. After using Sexy OW for a week now it does seem like this is the case. Am I correct in assuming that you keep old records of the API data?

Originally by: Ray McCormack Or do you mean display an unlimited amount of entries on a single page?
That was all I was suggesting myself. Currently Sexy limits each page to 40 records no matter what filter is applied. Some of what I'm asking for is in part for ease of copy and pasting into excel instead of having to make an odbc connection to the actual database. (See also unformatted reports as well) I know how to do so but I suspect I'd have to give an even longer FAQ on that then you do on Sexy & Wamp. I'm just thinking of features that would be helpful in general but not requiring too much in the way of instruction to utilize. I don't know how anyone presumed that Sexy is not storing more than 1000 records. Sexy is doing a perfect job from everything that I'm seeing. I can only guess that someone assumed Sexy was limited in the same fashion that the api updates are limited. Guess that comes from people not understanding the entire process, for both things. Hope that clears that up.

You can do this by hand by putting the limit=1000 in the url for it to display 1000 records for example. For example:
http://your_wallet_url/journal.php?limit=1000 or http://your_wallet_url/transactions.php?limit=1000

Or just use the in-built Scheduled Tasks tool found in the Control Panel. Point it to c:\wamp\php\php.exe and then in advanced properties add the path to the cron update files after that.

Aye, I've been doing just that myself I just thought it a nice feature to include.
If the purpose is just to be able to copy/paste a larger volume of entries I won't add it as standard as I'll be adding CSV exports instead. So for now just bear with the workaround you have.

Nope.

Yer, can appreciate that. But I'm not coding a PHP4 version when everyone has switched over to PHP5. And PHP4 will stop being supported beginning of next year iirc. Although it's possible a simple function rewrite is all that's needed to make it work in PHP4.

Hello Ray McCormack,
First of all, thanks a million for doing this and doing it for free! It's a great tool and is really appreciated .
I know you're going to release a new version soon, but there are a few suggestions I'd like to make:
1) Able to import your orders (after exporting them ingame). A new page shows you your orders but as those orders get sold/bought up the page updates itself. The idea is that you can export your orders whenever you put a new one up ingame and can then follow the progression via ingame. This is more for people who don't log on every day and can thus follow thier orders from a website and see when one of their orders is getting low.
2) A single update button (I currently have /cron/api.php as a shortcut).
3) The ability to filter out who buys lots of stuff from me. I often go through my orders to see who buys regularly and then try to contact them ingame and see if I can't get a contract with them. At the moment I have to manually go through all the orders but it would be nice to be able to filter eg "who bought more than 10000 bananas from me" or "who bought more than 10 times from me".
4) An indication of the next time we can update, or an indication of the last update date.
Cheers! -----------------------------------------------------

I've been working on a skin but have run into trouble. In the pic below, you'll see some of the borders are still orange, but I can't for the love of me find them in the css file. Which ones are they?
skin test
A couple of bugs I found:
- When selecting the display amount or turning images on/off, it won't save the settings when pressing on the save button
- If you take another look at the screenshot above, you'll see that there is a bug with the distrubution of the days on the x-axis. For instance the first two dates are 2007-08-01 and 2007-08-22, 21 days apart. The last two are one day apart which messes up the whole graph. It's not a big issue, just helps visually see what's going on.
And yet another suggestion: When looking at a specific item's overview, all the nu;bers are from buy and sell commands. Now unless I'm missing some special marketing/economics theory, I find it more usefull if they were all split from buy and sell orders. It allows me to see how my average buy/sell prices are progressing. Being able to compare them to previous weeks/months would be nice too.
I've also taken a look on your updated demo, it seems you removed the graph. Will it be back in future versions?
Thanks, hope to hear from you soon -----------------------------------------------------

Without further details, I'd say there is two likely culprits. A: You are using the limited API key to try and update with or B: You may be trying to update a corp wallet and you don't have access.

Below is a modified quote from the Wiki at EVEOW.
Quote: There are many platforms and software options to get this running. An AMP (Apache, MySQL, PHP) server is probably your best bet. For people on WinXP use WAMPServer, for MAC there is also something called MAMP you can use (google it).
You need to have PHP compiled with curl and gdlib. Under WAMPServer these are enabled by clicking on the system tray icon and checking them under PHP Settings, PHP Extensions.
To create a database, visit phpMyAdmin (again by clicking the system tray icon) and create one (call it anything).
I can't really be expected to give further instructions on how to install PHP and MySQL beyond this, there are many online guides. Google it.
However, if you're trying to install this locally for yourself and are using WAMP or MAMP I will be more than willing to help. I am RayMcCormack? on irc.coldfront.net and usually sit in #eve-dev.
Good luck.

Bumping dis
I have this application working great for a single char. It's really cool.
How do I add another char to the db? I have 3 traders, not in a corp together. 2 do most of my buying and shipping, and the 3rd char sells. Would like to figure out how to look at the big picture.
Will dig into the docs again later and see if I can find any info.

The API itself limits you to 1000 transactions, or the transactions for the last week. SEXY will store these in a database for you, though, allowing you to browse back to when you first started using SEXY.

To upgrade an existing install (in windows) should I just stop Wamp and dump this folder onto the old one?
PS thanks for the update
Edit: Got it updated. Put upgrade.php and \upgrade into your wallet folder and point your browser at it. Seems to be working ok!

Excellent application! And a very needed one to effectively run a corporation!
If possible, update to the coding site would be appreciated! Also there are a few good suggestions on where to improve.
I'd love to have more Categories on the summarized main Journal view. F.ex. A new category for POS fuel, minerals, advanced moon minerals etc. Perhaps a system where user could create categories based on the item name or id that comes out of the API interface..
Good job, keep it up!

I am hoping this is still under development. A couple of things.
1. Brilliant app. The install went smoothly even for someone who has no experience with linux and purcahsed a server for the very reason of running this.
2. When you disable personal journal and wallet in the settings.php file personal information stil appears in the overview tab. I would love to see that knocked out as well if you choose not to display personal data.

Edited by: Alz Shado on 05/03/2008 21:24:55 I agree and fully endorse this product. It has real potential in it's current state, but there's still a few things that need touching up.
Features I'd love to see added or fixed - multiple corp wallets - recognizing the new grouped bounty system, with proper notation as to who earned the bounty and for killing what. - remembering filters when going to next page in transactions - calculating Isk In/Isk Out properly in the transactions log - clicking on transaction ID showing the actual transaction - updating the system list to avoid # SYSTEM being listed. - Reporting features that allow sorting transactions by quantity sold, total, average, difference, etc. - Adding [YEARLY] as a grouping option to go along daily, weekly and monthly. - Corp transaction history going back farther than 2 months (bug? feature?)
Any news on it's progress would be awesome.

- Reporting features that allow sorting transactions by quantity sold, total, average, difference, etc. Yes, definitely. With features that allow you to add logical filters such as >,<,=,>=,<=,<>,between,in,etc.
- Adding [YEARLY] as a grouping option to go along daily, weekly and monthly. Heh, there's a major bug in the code that will show up in September. Hopefully I have it fixed before then. Will add this as a dynamic option.
- Corp transaction history going back farther than 2 months (bug? feature?) You sure you have data entered for your corp that goes beyond that? I have corps using the wallet that have no problem with this.

- multiple corp wallets Possible now, just no filter for them, but easy to add if you're using the latest version.
We're running 1.19.09, which I believe is the latest, but I don't have access to the server to modify the code myself.
- recognizing the new grouped bounty system, with proper notation as to who earned the bounty and for killing what. Give me the codes and descriptions and it's done. If the API supplies it, I can do it.
I'll have to look and see if it's in the database dump. The codes are all in the format of "12835:6,16010:5,18027:1,12464:3,16209:1,18026:4" which I believe is the shiptype and the quantity.
- remembering filters when going to next page in transactions This should happen now, if it doesn't please supply the ex-url (the part of the url less your domain) and I will look into it.
First page: ?type=Small+Armor+Repairer+I&typeID=&wallet=corp&action=transactions Second page: ?offset=15&wallet=corp&action=transactions It appears the "type" option isn't being carried over. If I enter it manually after the offset, it works.
- calculating Isk In/Isk Out properly in the transactions log Why doesn' it?
When choosing "Transactions" it continues to calculate the entire Journal's in/out, including bounties, rewards, etc. What I'm expecting to happen is for the Isk In/Isk Out value to recalculate based on the transaction log (ie, Market transactions) only.
- clicking on transaction ID showing the actual transaction What does it do now?
ex-url: index.php?action=transactions&transactionID=XXXXXXXX (removed) Page loads as "No Transactions Found"
- updating the system list to avoid # SYSTEM being listed. Just needs a new update of the official dump.
What I get in the transaction log currently: "Berceuse bought x #System from Alz Shado (TransactionID : xxxxxxxxx)"
- Reporting features that allow sorting transactions by quantity sold, total, average, difference, etc. Yes, definitely. With features that allow you to add logical filters such as >,<,=,>=,<=,<>,between,in,etc.
Awesome^2.
- Adding [YEARLY] as a grouping option to go along daily, weekly and monthly. Heh, there's a major bug in the code that will show up in September. Hopefully I have it fixed before then. Will add this as a dynamic option.
Good news: that's six months away. Bad news: that's ONLY six months away
- Corp transaction history going back farther than 2 months (bug? feature?) You sure you have data entered for your corp that goes beyond that? I have corps using the wallet that have no problem with this.
I've been using the offline wallet since November, and as of today the corp records only go as far back as the beginning of February. Last month I could see January and December too. If I go into my personal log, I can see as far back as November of last year.
Thanks again for developing this remarkable tool. I'm looking forward to the next release!

It actually bugs heavyly when there are transactions inside corps wallet from one division to another division. It does not calculate that correctly. It seems that sometimes it "notices" only the Withdrawal and not the input to another wallet division and vice versa. I think that a good way to solve it would be to take out all interwallet transactions from all calculations.
This is the reason its not currently calculating the weekly in's and out's properly for me :-/

I've been having some problems with the cron and logging. So, this is what I changed the logerror function in the functions.php to:
function log_error($data) { $today = date("Y-m-d G:i"); $logfile = "apierrorlog.html"; $dir = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].'/logs/'; $saveLocation= $dir . $logfile; if (!$handle = fopen($saveLocation, "a")) { exit; } else { if(fwrite($handle,$today.' '.nl2br(print_r($data,true))."<br />\n")===FALSE) { exit; } fclose($handle); } }
Note the addition of DOCUMENT_ROOT (so cron can find the log location) and print_r (so this function can print arrays that cron is sending to it).

Edit your settings.php file.
Quote: # Set the wallet divisions to access. # Tip : Disable those you don't require or don't have access to. # Default : $settings['divisions'] = array("1000","1001","1002","1003","1004","1005","1006"); # Options : an array from 1000 to 1006. Master is 1000, Division 7 is 1006. $settings['divisions'] = array("1000","1001","1002","1003","1004","1005","1006");
Or do you mean you still want to capture the other wallets, but want the display to filter them out? If so, currently only on the Journal and Transactions Tabs, not the Overview Tab.

Not currently. I will release a standalone exporter/importer soon that will be needed for future upgrades. But this will be to CSV.
You can however turn off the deleting of XML files after they are parsed. In update.php find the lines (plural) :
Quote: unlink($xmlfile);
and change it to Quote: #unlink($xmlfile);
This will leave all the xml files in /temp, but be aware this is an open folder that anyone can access (granted they will need to guess the file name) so you will need to clear it out. And protecting it will break the parsing.

Dear Ray,
it seems i'm having the same issue as the poster just above :

Is there a way to make sure the databases have been correctly created/imported/linked and stuff? I first thought i was having this because it was a fresh install, with no information updated or whatsoever, so i selected "personal", "weekly" and "update". It then displayed
Checking wallets for <my character ID>
And that was it, nothing more displayed.
Would that be a DB issue or an API issue... or anything else?
I did install php5-gd and php5-curl, and checked that there was a /etc/php5/conf.d/curl.ini and gd.ini (containing the lines "extension=curl.so" and "extension="gd.so").
I also created a database, a user, and granted all privileges on this db for this user.
I believe I provided the correct DB information (and correct api/key and stuff) in the settings.php file, but i'd love to know a way to validate that.
Thanks for this great piece of app ! |

It sounds like the db is empty and the update has failed. What browser are you using? Try running the update with Firefox and see what happens.

Are they any DB that should be populated straight away, before the update? And how can I make sure the update is running correctly and there's no issue with the API or credentials?
(that was a free ad for firefox, get it here : http://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-2.0.0.14&os=win&lang=en-GB !)

I tried to do it myself yesterday, but i gave up. Your code is very hard to read Indentation ftw! Ow, and comments would help a lot too...

Yes, it comes with Zebra. It is quite nice. But I am changing the database wrapper in the next release to ADODB and implementing a custom error and debug system.
Originally by: Calgorac I get that error on the personal page and a couple others.
Catch me ingame or on RAWR IRC (or ColdFront) if you frequent it so we can work through the problem.
Originally by: No La Any chance of adding a yearly tab to the app?
Sure, but in the next release it won't be necessary. I'm switching to date range filtering on most things with customisable presets.

Yer, sorry. In the current re-write I will try to structure things a bit better and comment a lot of the code.

It looks like transfers from one division to another in the corporate wallet get counted as a debit?
There's no corresponding credit transaction for the debit from the master wallet for a trasnfer to a division.
I can't decide if this is a problem in CCP's transaction data or if it should be coded around...

Interesting. I shall investigate. I'd prefer not to have to create the corresponding credit transaction, from a brief glance it looks like there'll be a few issues on hitting the correct division and calculating the running balance.
Anyone able to check for definite if this is the case?

I tried installing this on my paid webhost, 'cause from the demo it looks awesome. However, when I have entered all the proper settings (as far as I understand) the install script states the following (I removed some info due to privacy):
Quote: Database connection failed due to Access denied for user 'removed'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
Edit the database settings in /removed/install/install.php or contact your database provider
The username states seems to be the default user for the server, and not the one I entered in both the settings.php and install.php. All the files have been uploaded and the proper permissions have been given. Is there an obvious solution to this that I have overlooked? I have contacted my webhost, but would expect them not to help out if this seems to be an error on my part. Any help would be appreciated.
In advance, thank you for your time :-) |

I took a look and fixed the issue in my local database via: delete FROM `jcorp` where ownerName1 = ownerName2 and refTypeID = 37
It's not trivial to create the appropriate credit transactions as I think you'll have to step through the journal and look for discrepancies in the balance -- more a case of a mistake on CCP's part that needs correcting, I think.

I went back and forth with a bughunter and turns out the problem is refid is not a primary key... the refid for the credit transaction is the same as the debit ex:

Strange. We're moving away from split overviews in the next version. Everything is just date ranges, which can be preset. So this isn't something that needs looking into now.
Also, thanks for the posts above. Will help a lot in creating a workaround for the issue.

I'm looking forward to this... Is there an ETA for the next release? Or when can we expect date ranges on the CVS?
Lastly, just a couple feature requests... 1) Can you add it so we can sort columns? 2) Can we filter by item type? (modules, ammo, ships, etc)
Thanks for the excellent work. Best wishs,

I get to Step 7 and I get the error; "Database connection failed due to Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)"
I know this is because the password is set to ";", so where do I input this password so I can get access? I know if I just delete the PW in the config file it'll work fine but you said to put in a PW so I did.
Also, it was recommended by the program to add a password to the MYSQL account on the phpMyAdmin page and once I did, it completely locked me out, not asking for a password/username input and forcing me to uninstall and reinstall the program. I'm having problems with passwords here, I haven't a clue where I input them so I can get access. __________________________________________________

Sounds like your hosting setup doesn't have one of the required libs for this to work.
The settings.php most likely isn't even connected to this project.

Edited by: Traxman on 18/07/2008 07:05:24 Hi Ray,
It's correct, the first errors are due to a problem where it seems not to check if the result set is empty ;)
The other 2 missing files, if you want i can prove it for you that it's included in the main page.
I'll mail you privatly later today with some ideas.
Update: Show the page, view pagesource, and you can see it: '<script src="scripts/scriptaculous.js?load=effects" type="text/javascript"></script>'
I might have another version ? I downloaded every file you got, followed the instructions and so far it seems be a problem with the import then.

I don't need proof, I wrote the thing. Those files may be requested but are not needed in any released version.
So besides that I still don't know what problem you are having. All you've told me is what you think is causing it, not what is actually wrong.
When you click on Update, what happens?

I should take the SVN offline for now, it's out of date. SEXY will have a new release sometime soon, I'm busy finalising some of the framework and then just need to implement some standard reports.
Once the next release is done SEXY will shift to an early release subscription model. Hosting will be provided for paying subscribers who will receive updates first and custom reports as part of that deal. Third-party report writers will receive compensation for their submissions.
Updates will be made available freely to the public one or two months after initial release.

I'm not very well versed with licenses but couldn't you release the source with a restrictive license that says that one can only use it for personal use and profiting from it in terms of money and isk is not allowed? Maybe even allow only single user per license to avoid people claiming to be using it for corp etc.
Other than that I doubt that anyone will try to profit from the app because selling the same service as you would mean no more free version which will cause their business to tank.

I will be releasing it on something very similar to that license, in fact, the same license it is already released on. But, it will be two months after it is released to paying subscribers.
I still believe in open source and the open source model, but the implementation and future development of the application require my time. And between work, EVE and SEXY I need some balance. If I can balance the latter two then my life will become so much easier.

When you say 'released to the public' does that mean we can still host a copy on our own server?

it's been a couple of weeks so I figured I'd check in to see if there's any news or progress. This app is easily the offline tool I use the most... I'm almost obsessive with it.
I look forward to any updates.
Best wishes,

Just wondering if the current version is going to explode in september as you mentioned something about it having problems after a date in an earlier post Ray.
Will we now need to pay isk to replace the exploding version with a new non-volatile version?

Edited by: Sugar Jugs on 16/08/2008 07:51:32 Edited by: Sugar Jugs on 16/08/2008 07:50:37 I am having some issues. All of my corporation transactions that I am interested in analysing are through the master wallet (division 1000). Since I installed the wallet, something in my calculations has not been right, in that my sales is reported lower than I know it actually is. I did some playing around today, and it appears that almost 90% of my sales figues are coming through tagged incorrectly. 89% of my isk volume is being tagged with the division set to zero..... Only 11% of my master wallet transactions are in the database with division 1000 set correctly. The biggest issue is that on these "division 0" transactions the corporation member who actioned the sales order is a blank field.
-------------A sample transaction from wcorp reads (continues on 2nd set of lines):-------------------
transactionDateTime transactionID quantity typeName typeID price clientID clientName characterID 2008-07-06 08:24:00 681260712 2 Stasis Webifier I 526 20000.0 802965082 Sputnik D 361362480
CharacterName corpID stationID stationName transactionType division 0 60003760 Jita IV - Moon 4 - Caldari Navy Assembly Plant buy 0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is this a problem with SEXY, the eve-api or something on my end? I really need to solve this problem. Any thought would be appreciated.
Regards, Sugar Jugs
P.S. Hosted version for isk sounds excellent, especially with user submitted reports available to others (at uploaders discression ofc). :)

No, you will just need to wait a while longer than you would if you paid for it. The date problem is limited to how long you've been pulling data. It's easily fixable by truncating data older than a year.

I noticed this too on one of my wallets. Not sure where it's coming from, haven't investigated it further.

Edited by: Mike''P on 07/10/2008 23:25:26 Hi guys,
First off, to Ray, fantastic application, thanks for putting it out there!
[EDIT: just noticed the reference to the September explosion: I believe my patches below solve this - pressure off, Ray! ]
Second off, if any of you have been running it for over a year, you'll start to notice something a bit awry in your weekly and monthly figures - basically, the results from September last year will get mixed in with results for September this year if you're in the overview page looking at the 'month' or 'week' stats. A small bug has crept in.
It seems like Ray has sidestepped this in the next version with the date range approach to getting at that data, but in the meantime, to fix the issue with the current version, here's a little patchiness.
First port of call: functions.php. This is just about adding a $year argument to a few functions and including it into the SQL statement.
Locate the 'get_isk_week_in()' function, and modify it as below:-
function get_isk_week_in($wallet,$week,$year) { global $settings; $query = "SELECT SUM(amount) AS amount FROM `".$settings[$wallet.'journaltable']."` WHERE `amount` > '0' AND WEEK(`date`,1) = ".$week." AND YEAR(`date`) = ".$year." ORDER BY `date` DESC"; $result = mysql_query($query); $row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result); return number_format($row['amount'], 2, '.', ','); }
I'm sure you can see what I've done there - an extra argument $year, and change the $query to test the YEAR as well as the WEEK:-)
Now do the same mod for the other 'get_isk_week_xx' functions and the 'get_isk_month_xx' functions.
Second port of call: overview.php.
Line 231: add this
$year = date("Y",mktime(0, 0, 0, $rowdate['date'][1], $rowdate['date'][2][0]-($n*7), rowdate['date'][0]));
Line 233: change to this:
$query = "SELECT * FROM `".$settings[$_GET['wallet'].'journaltable']."` WHERE WEEK(`date`,1) = ".$week." AND YEAR(`date`) = ".$year." ORDER BY `date` DESC";
Line 313: add this:
$year = date("Y",mktime(0, 0, 0, $rowdate['date'][1]-$n, $rowdate['date'][2][0], $rowdate['date'][0]));
Line 314: change to this:
$query = "SELECT * FROM `".$settings[$_GET['wallet'].'journaltable']."` WHERE MONTHNAME(`date`) = '".$month."' AND YEAR(`date`) = ".$year." ORDER BY `date` DESC";
and then change any references to the 'get_isk_xxx_xxx' functions modified in functions.php so that they have the extra '$year' argument.
I can make proper unix diffs if anyone wants them.
Hope that helps!

Just posting this here at Ray's request:
I was having some problems getting [SEXY] fully functional, try as I might nothing was showing up in the transactions tab and all of the journal entries were missing information. I talked to Ray and he noticed there was a problem fetching specifically the corporate transaction log, as seen by the series of errors below:
...updating corporate transactions for xxxx... ...A general error has occured, please try again later. for division 1000. ...updating corporate transactions for xxxx... ...A general error has occured, please try again later. for division 1001. ...updating corporate transactions for xxxx... ...A general error has occured, please try again later. for division 1002. ...updating corporate transactions for xxxx... ...A general error has occured, please try again later. for division 1003. ...updating corporate transactions for xxxx... ...A general error has occured, please try again later. for division 1004. ...updating corporate transactions for xxxx... ...A general error has occured, please try again later. for division 1005. ...updating corporate transactions for xxxx... ...A general error has occured, please try again later. for division 1006.
After much head scratching and bugging Ray I logged into "My Character" here on the eve-o site and attempted to receive said log through that interface, only to be confronted by the same error once again. Once I saw this I went and reset my api key and voila.. all was well again.
Apparently it's possible for one 'small' section of the API to be broken while the rest works flawlessly, who knew?

Does this still work..
I have followed the steps perfectly, I have also looked through the php code (fairly adept at php) and yet I still get no data entered into the MySQL DB..
I get the following repeated indefinatly: updating personal journal for 641814732... ...0 entries added successfully
i left it for 5 mins once and had over 500 lines of it.... The DB tables are correct and I have reinstalled and reinstalled.. Curl, GD and PHP are all set up correctly yet no joy.. any help?
