hey ppl
My question is this...
When doing missions in deadspace in a lo-sec system is it possible to be scan probed or not??
I read somwhere that it is possible just very unlickly, does any1 know what the odds r, and has any 1 been probbed out, or succesfull scaned a mission runner?
I dont wonna b half way thru a lvl4 mission wiv a batterd tank only to find players warping in on me wiv my death and t2/faction loot on there minds

Yes, you can be scanned out. But if you can keep an eye on the scanner, stay away from the warp in point and stay aligned for warp while you run the mission, you are unlikely to die.

You probly won't be scanned out very often unless you pick a very popular losec system to run in.
Problem is if you make 5-10mil per lvl4 and your running ship costs 200m (A reasonable price) you need to complete 20-40 missions to make it back. If you get scanned down once every 30 missions you're either barely pulling a profit, or losing ISK.
You run those missions in hisec but never lose your ship you're pulling a much greater profit all things accounted for.
To fix this CCP needs to make losec much more profitable. lvl5s ain't done it.

There are 2 or 3 mission where you can bipass the warpgates warping in, if you have a bokkmark or you have scanned the mission runner. One is a mission against the guristas, enemy abound I think, level 3.

I would definitely bug report any mission that I knew the gates could be bypassed at. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

It's not a bug, apparently. Some missions have gates but are not in deadspace. Massive Attack (Level 3) is one of these missions where you can bypass the earlier parts and warp to a bookmark, or another player.

"A case of the kidnapping" is another mission where I have personally warped directly to gang members while the mission is active.
One thing you might try is to go to two or three empty-space spots of your own and pop out groups of 5 drones as decoys.
Who is the bigger carebear: The miner who braves lowsec on his own, or the "PvPer" who attacks an unarmed ship? |

There was a thread about it where someone said they had petitioned it and they were told the mission was supposed to be that way.

the description of level 3 massive attack tells you its not a deadspace and you can warp in to any place, given you have a bookmark.
