To think how much money I might have saved on counselling had I known sooner. Many thanks to those who posted.

I once wanted to use the "create a contract to check waht's in a remote container" trick, and I made the price realy high so nobody could grab my stuff. Unfortunatley, after clicking through all the dialogs I realised I had paid about 40M isk worth of tax...

Scammed myself twice in one night. Sold a hulk for 495,000. They were going for 500M-ish back then, see. Real "DOH" moment of not reading the zeroes correctly.
Then I bought one for about that much, and watched invention drive em to 130M over the next few months.

I once went AFK for a couple of minutes and when I came back I had lost my CNR and about 2b isk of modules to a mission spawn. I didn't petition...
500m? I lose that much trading every month due to bad deals. Ofc I make more on the good ones

I got scammed out of a thousand dollars or so. (Not isk, dollars.)
Haven't been scammed since, including on EVE - if the mistake hurts enough, you're unlikely to repeat it.
