Yep, I got scammed. To the tune of over 500 mil Isk. The worst part is that the scammer did not even give me the dignity of making the scam that elaborate -it was a simple 'rename the battleship to look like a faction battleship' trick that even a 2 week old player could spot a mile off. I wish I could blame it on the bad weather we're having -but alas it came down to my own absent mindedness and my rush to logout of Eve to meet some friends who would soon be waiting for me.
The thing that gets me is that he took the time to be friendly & chat me up before the trade -social engineering at its best.
Oh, and this comes after the month before last in which two directors I'd left in charge of my corp during my hiatus ran off with 2 bil in Isk and almost 1 bil worth of POS gear. Good times.
I'm not looking for sympathy, just some cheering up.
Have you been scammed? Do you have any good advice for a healthy rebound? If not a simple joke will suffice; anything to make me smile because God knows I need it.

My co-director once bought one unit of Megacyte for 34 million ISK, and one unit of Zydrine for 50 million, specifically after I told him to make sure and check such things. I told him that he needs to be better at intellectual PvP. ------------ ULTIMATE LAG SOLUTION IBTL! IBDS/DC! IBTC! 1st in a BoB post! And other such forum tom-foolery. |

That sucks, but Faction BSs don't go for 500mil. They never have. Even I don't get them @ 500mil. And I've sold how many ...
Come and see me when your buying a CNR, I will give it to you (only) at my cost. Just to help you out.
Good luck

Here, have my favourite exotic dancer. You need it more as I do.
As for a healthy rebound ? Well, you DO have a battleship. It's not faction, but still a battleship. That's a good start.
A little bit of work, a little bit of care, and poof, 1+ bil in your wallet before you know it.

Sounds like a woman complaining about a bad date.
-- I don't post on my main. The reason is simple- to remain obscure. EVE as a society is a rough place, and I like being anonymous. I'm not afraid. I'm just prudent. |

Actually when you see prices like that, 1 unit of x item at 100 mil, its not because someone is trying to scam. Someone is ISK laundering. AT least thats what I dreamt up in my fantasy world.

Ahh don't worry dude.
If you played in China you would have to enter a pin number and do some "suitable exercise" right now. Wouldn't that just burn ya? Spend 2 hours online, lose a faction BS, and then have to do 30 crunches to top it off.

Do a Zen mental exercise:
Close your eyes (after you read the rest) and clear your mind of other thoughts, and ensure you are in an area with little or no noise;
Picture black empty space (0.0) with nothing in it but a giant silver box,
Now imagine that silver box slowly changes into clear plastic,
Focus on the empty space behind it,
While you watch, the clear plastic is becoming more and more transparent until finally you can no longer make out the edges of the box against the blackness behind it.
Focus on the emptiness, force yourself not to let your conscious thought wander, keep your inner voice from making audible thoughts.
Try and stay in this state for 20-30 min. Do that a few times a day and you will have lower blood pressure, lower stress, a clearer cognitive process, and your current problem of having been scammed will have been forgotten.
This is a difficult exercise and will take practice before you can completely silence your mind for any length of time.
P.S. I didnt read the OP's name until mid way through this post, I guess its especially relevant..... - Haradgrim [-WB-]

I once spent something like $300M for torps. I was clicking quickly and bought like 6000 for $50,000/unit, that was a big hit in the kisser.
My corp mates got a good laugh out of it. I sent the guy an email stating,
"my accountant is currently being investigated for money laundering and embezzlement. I have records indicating that he has transferred a sizable sum of cash to your accounts. I wish to discuss a reasonable manner in which I will regain a portion of my stolen funds."
I had hoped he would of answered and at least gave me a bit of entertainment for my ill spent money - never got a reply

I bought a nice, shiny new CNR from F90OEX last weekend. It was the lowest one on the market so if he is offering you a deal I am thinking he is good for it and it really is a deal.
Sucks about the scam. I have so many people blocked because of scam contracts I'm afraid I am going to run out of space.
