Originally by: Alice Cholmondeley It's amazing CCP acts so quickly with information under the threat of Goon spamming and abuse. Nice work showing how easy blackmail is. You don't see so many dev posts, if any at all, with other cases.
It's about survival, we act fast now so we get less trouble to deal with later. I might actually be able to take tomorrow off because of it.

Topic has been cleaned up to this point. Stay on topic and don't troll or personally attack others. Off-topic posts, flmaes, and trolls will be removed and warnings issued.
Leave the tinfoil off for this one folks. If you feel that the investigation wasn't handled properly, please feel free to send an email to Internal Affairs, not discuss it on the forums.

Ok, some things need to be clarified.
If you petition an account you suspect was hacked you won't actually get the account banned. There has to be other indications that the account was hacked for that to happen. If the account is banned for an investigation, you will get the time you lost reimbursed. And if you do petition an account for getting hacked just to get it banned you will be banned yourself instead. Just so we're clear on those issues.
Second, if an account may be hacked there are two possibilities, either it was or it wasn't. If the account was hacked, we need to get the stuff back to the owner. I believe we're all on the same page so far. Now, if we can investigate this really fast, ban the account and take a few hours to do so, when the option would be to wait and give the hacker time to move around stolen items which we would then spend days tracking down, that is what we will do. It has nothing to do with threats or complaints, it has a lot to do with managing our time well. That is something we will do, we will continue to do and we will not apologize for doing it. We're helping ourselves and we're helping the players, it's a win win situation. So take off the tinfoil hats and move along.

Gap
Those kinds of issues are between us (CCP) and the person involved, we do not release that kind of information to third parties.

Thread cleaned.
First of all, I would like to remind you that even if you disagree with a moderator's actions, the proper place for your concerns is in an email to [email protected] rather than in a post on the forums. Posting them on the forums is against the forum rules (which can earn you a forum warning or ban), derails the thread, can cause flaming and trolling and will also render your concerns unlikely to receive an answer as we don't read every post on the forums since we are volunteer moderators with limited amounts of time. We do however make an effort to answer every email that we receive with a reply from a senior moderator.
I ask that you remain on topic and constructive from this point forward. I would also be grateful if Flatliner could send an email to us at his or her earliest convenience.
Thank you!
