Well i has a littl extra isk now, so i was trying to go out for alittle pvp. I mean, i'll prolly die. But whatever, i'm a bit tired of hauling, and at my sp, clones are cheap and so are my rifters. So anyway, i read the guides, practiced scanning, so i go out and start scanning. can't find anything good, jump, scan and so on. i find ship after ship of space junk out there. People dicthing their noob ships or cynos wih ships in them etc. I've yet to come across an actual player in space outside proximity of a station (except once, but he got away...). What am i doing wrong? Or is it just this hard to find people to shoot at?
Also, Stephanie from lazytown is hot and she's legal in iceland where the show is filmed. |

holy damn, the pirate forum is like 10x less usefull than any of the other already un-usefull forums. holy balls man, i mean holy balls. balls *********.

I have a similar problem but I actually find it hard to find juicy targets like mining barges etc., I have no problems finding a drake that is piloted by a 5 year old pilot who will obliterate me in seconds ;)
Try playing around with the universe map, see where there are many pilots in a low sec system close to densely populated systems maybe? Just 2 ISK from a noob like me :)

Think like a carebear. Where would you go to mine/rat?
Then go to these systems, make a safespot there. People will get relaxed with you in system if they saw you passing through a couple of times, because they'll think you're hauling something.
Make sure the safespot is within scanner range of all the belts and that they're not all in one direction, makes scanning much easier.
Then, get back in system, warp to the safespot scan down any frig / cruiser / hauler / miner in a belt (after a while you should do this really fast), warp to 0. Most ratting cruisers with players under a year old, will be terribly fitted and you can comfortably kill them in a Rifter.

You have to move about. How far are you ranging? Try and use the map and have a look at low-sec systems close to start systems. Think like a carebear.
Old Man Star (love the name) and Covryn come to mind.

Think you had better luck than me. On my first day out hunting yesterday I ran into a -10sec dude.
I escaped his attentions at a belt, then from my safe spot we decided to meet at a belt for a 1v1 to half armour. Fully expecting to die quickly (I was actually interested how long I would last as a total noob vs total pro), I was supprised when he stopped shooting me. We chatted for a bit, and then he podded me.
Interesting, but I learnt a valuable lesson about NOS and the importance of cap for an active tank.

Gonna give you the same tip I got when I asked this question: Go to Mara.
There, and in the surrounding systems, I find targets all the time (not the most juicy ones but good ones for getting PvP practive).
Now I know this sounds like a trap and lots of other pirates hang out there but they're easily avoided in a Rifter, and Mara is very convinient as a center-point cause it has belts all within 12 AU (i.e. scanner range iirc).

Open your amp browser...select how many pilots active in system..go there.
