Why the intense need to flame CCP? They have made the best game in the world, and they shouldn't have to push the storyline for people that play 70 hour / week can get a new toy...
Also, I hope that things like player stations and mobile refineries drop in one now and one then... so it ain't the corporation with 50 alts in 0.0 space that get all the stuff..

Quote: I presume that Mobile Warp disruptors, Elite Frigates and player controlled stations are in this patch ?
CCP stated in the last chat that they would be introduced 'before the end of January'. Today is the 28th. If these items are not in today's patch, is there to be another patch prior to the conclusion of January ?
What is the truth of the matter ?
I'd like to share with you a Developers tip:
#include('stdlib.h'); #include('not_stdlib.h'); #include('heaven.h'); #include('hell.h'); main void() { if( ! Be There = To me + ( there / mass) * relativity ^ (be *or* not 2 be)) { printf("%s",I'd be if I'm not there); } else { printf("%s",I can't be there coz ((( mass ^ height)/PI)*Brain damage)= c~r~a~c~k~e~r~s); } return RET; }
// Output notes RET = 0 - you are insane RET = 1 - you need help to get there RET = 2 - sometimes be there isn't enough RET = 3 - brain damage RET = 666 - hell isn't bad! its a holidays hot spot RET = EVE - sometimes EVE returns to 666
Just take care and have fun... and lay back waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting a see your hair grow while you wait
D~A~M~M even c~r~a~c~k~e~r~s is a forbiden word in this forum

That's pretty funny.
Maybe they will release them as an expansion pack, which will cost money. You want stuff, you gonna have to pay MORE for it.
After all, it usually takes about a year for an MMOG company to realize that its original project estimates were WAY too optimistic, and that they underestimated the work it will take to maintain the game, have some customer support, squash bugs AND add new features.
I don't see CCP as being any different, so far. They try to do everything with a limited set of resources, same as everybody out there. Whining about it won't change anything.
Maybe we'll have to pay money for an expansion soon, that actually has the features we were promised 1-2 years ago. I would not be surprised at all. It's the norm in the industry.
And they said they already weren't gonna do Expansion packs dude. Furthermore... almost everything that we demand and they promise is actually on the CD you paid for. Its just not activated. Why would you pay for an expansion pack if it was promised on the box?
Elite Frigates will be introduced via agents and all that is gonna take is a flip of a SQL query most likely.
False promises won't make me quit but they are very annoying.

yeah to pay for incomplete game its annoying ... even more annoying is to have to do stupid crap missions to have something... its really 2 times annoying

Have you ever developed, released and maintained a Massively Multiplayer game? Do you have any idea how much work it takes to keep it running and to implement updates that will work on the majority of systems/connections?
It's a case of deadlines, and if CCP deem something more important to implement than Elite Frigates, then so be it. Just because you want all the latest toys now doesn't mean CCP should run to your every beck and call.
It's a case of being patient and let the game run its course...otherwise it would have burnt out a long time ago.
Im sry but that is the most idiotic respose i have ever heard.

Quote: Dash, the fact that developing, producing and maintaining a MMOG is difficult, time consuming and by it's very nature involves unpredictable delays is no excuse.
The issue at play here is managing customers expectations and communicating to them. If CCP just published a release schedule looking a couple of months ahead, made realistic deadlines to allow for adequate testing and then posted messages in the forum as soon as something slipped to keep their customers up to date then we would have far less of this *****ing about content release.
All they have to do is improve communications, then a lot of this discontent will go away.
Sure, and understand everyone's frustrations. Hell, I get frustrated sometimes, but calling CCP liars, along with all the bad rap they get on the forums, kind of ****ed me off a bit that's all. Yeah delays suck, but letĘs just be thankful we have Eve in the first place

I don't think you have quite grasped what I was trying to say.
Basically, deeming CCP 'liars' is incredibly harsh considering the responsibilities bestowed upon them. I am all for updates, but I also understand that these things take time to test, implement and maintain. There is also the factor that this is supposed to be an evolving world, and filling it full of toys straight away would kind of detract from its slow-burning nature wouldn't it?
Obviously I am not saying that you should be grateful for what you get, period, because its customer satisfaction that guarantees sales. What I am saying is that making games is a tough business, never mind maintaining one for thousands of people (the most expensive and demanding phase of any software lifecycle). CCP are only humans, so sometimes things slip by the wayside in order to make sure they absolutely work upon release.
Continuing with your TV analogy, if the green electron gun isnĘt quite working resulting in a badly pigmented image, do you fix that first or get a lovely new DVD player, forgoing the televisions obvious shortcomings in the visual department? I know which I would plum forą

Quote:
Warcry: Rumors and hints have been flying about on the official forums that one future enhancement of the game will be the capability to build and/or own stations. Can you comment on this? If station building/owning is a feature, are there corporations in the game that will already be able to take advantage of such a system, no matter the price?
Hellmar: In Kali (the next version after Shiva), you will be able to build stations. Shiva allows you to build outposts that function as stations. As noted in one of the recent Council of Stellar Management meetings, we explained that we are going to spawn designated, conquerable stations on Tranquility by early February.
Date has been pushed foward a little (again )

The game is great already, enjoy it as it stands now , enjoy it in the future when all these patches come about.

I agree with Dash. And I would also like to say that you complainers need to shut up. They are doing their best. Most of you have no idea what it would take to write the "Hello World" program, let alone a massively multiplayer online game like Eve. Just be patient.

Yeah it does. I can see a corp having a small squadron of interceptors to warp in and "soften up" a target then warp right back out before the opposition knew what happened. A very nice touch. w00t to CCP and the devs
