Hi everyone
I would like to know: Is it legal for me to pay for a friend's Eve Online subscription on my credit card? In other words, the billing details won't match the account owner's details but we will NOT be sharing the account -is this within the bounds of the EULA?
I looked over the EULA but can't find any reference to it. Thanks for your help.

if you have isk you could sponsor your friend with GTC, or even do it with RL isk

Thanks for your advice guys.
I'd still like to know whether paying on a credit card for someone else's account by consent is allowed?

Not sure, but you can go Here, buy a game time code (GTC) and give it to your friend for free. ------------------------------------------------------------------

Pretty sure thats considered account sharing, because the person that pays for the account is considered to be the one that owns it... CCP's decisions in this area do seem to be rather arbitrary however, so you should probably petition.
GTCs are probably the best way though, as you're gifting the isk to your friend. (though, seemingly random largeish credit transfers also draw the ire of ccp) --- Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail. - Emerson |

well.. make sure your friend doesn't buy isk or do something horrible like hack someone in-game. because THEN they enfroce account sharing and POOF goes your account because you paid for his.
this has happened in the past. ----------------------------------- I'm working my way through college target CCP |

Nah, if you buy someone a magazine subscription, they own them yeah? If you gift someone with something, legally it's theirs.
OP, if you're really worried, make a petition and ask CCP.

Your best bet is to file a petition about this and someone from CCP will let you know the official word. We can make guesses but if this ever comes back and bites you in the butt you can always point to a petition and say "see, GMXXXX said I was able to do this!".
I'm going to close this thread since there is nothing else we can do for you.
Good luck.
