Earlier today, I had a few people on the Newbie chat try to tell me that about not only how they have had experience flying a Titan, but also use them exclusivly for mining.
Now, my natural reaction was not only laughing, but calling them on their Bull, as I figured that Titans cost around 10-20 billion ISK range, and with that kind of price tag, I'd expect more than a multi billion ISK miner when say, a Hulk ranging around the 120-130 million mark seems so much more logical, as in 100 Hulk miners for 1 Titan miner...
But these two gentlemen stated that both of them not only have had experiences with flying titans (which I laughed at also, may be true, but I would figure only a handful of Eve players would ever get the chance to fly them on the Tranquility server), and insited that they used them for mining!
Am I delusional? or is it true that Mega. Corps. build Titans for mining? And if so, why, when you can have 50-100 Hulks, Mackinaw's,etc, mining (which is what they were meant for) do it so much faster (or, what I would think anyway)
Please shed some light on this, if corps. are using titans for mining, why? I dont see the connection myself.

Rumour has it ORE are currently working there very own titan. Speculation is rife that 5th DDD will enter the game with kali 3 giving AOE mining yield to roids. Jump in, detonate, all roids within 100km mined in seconds. (Chriba is believed to has bought the only known BPC!!)

fyi titans cost closer to 60-70 billion
and a hulk with max skills will out mine a titan by far
and the only people who have titans would never mine in them unless they want to laugh about it on the forums

If you have one that you want to sell for 70 billion, we will buy asap.
tbh they cost more like 120+ bil not counting amount of carrier/freighter runs needed to haul all stuff, or time to put all this stuff into that one POS.
