I try not to whine about eve to much, however revelation 2 introduced a major breakdown in pvp where in some situations it became on playable.
However not only eve got worse, but also the petition system. The GM's of the petition give only one reply:
Quote: "We are sorry to hear about your ship loss. Unfortunately we are unable to reimburse the ship as our server-side logs do not indicate that a bug/error within the game or a server related problem was the reason for your loss. This does not mean that we doubt your description of events in any way but I'm afraid it keeps our hands tied in regards to reimbursement.
Our reimbursement policies are very strict and we can only reimburse if we are able to verify that a bug or server error caused the loss. We hope that you understand our position and that you will recover swiftly from the loss. "
Now I don't care if I get my ship back or lose money when I die, but I can't let it go that we even get these reply's when the server is totally crap.
1 or 2 years ago I rember that GM's doing the petition could detect when nodes where stressed and they saw the system became on playable. Now GM's can't even see that eve has gone offline for a hour, let alone see that a system with 200 people has a responds time of 20 minutes minimum.
So my request to CCP please fix the Tools the GM's work with because if they can't even detect these things then there tools are just worthless. Signature inappropriate. Mail us at [email protected] if you have any further questions or queries - Valorem |

yeah, that why you should always escalate stuff like this to a senor GM. But the problem is you shouldn't HAVE to. ----------------------------------- I'm working my way through college target CCP |

It shouldn't be needed to ask for this, in my opion anyways. I don't know why it so hard for GM's to handle this, while they had no problem with it a time ago.

What I think is this.
CCP never had logs for 90% of the crap that happens. But until recently, you wrote a plausible story, you'd get your ship back. Use a few key phrases about 300 people in system, ship not reacting to anything, word it politely, and voila. Reimbursement. All they changed recently IMO is that they decided that the system was getting abused (steady rise in people realizing how easy it was to get a ship reimbursed) and stopped reimbursing stuff most of the time.

And that there is a big problem. Which is how it seems tho. Its also great how some people in the battle get there stuff back and others dont even with a node death.

It seems that's procedure need to be (re)build for petition and GM answer.
For thing i read here and around.
- You need to escalate to a senior GM to have a real discussion/answer. There's a lot of petition, assigning people to make a filter for crap/easy answer/automatic answer. After those people assign petition to a GM team in charge of a section. Senior GM can do their work of senior and not work as a standard GM
Same problem, different or opposite answer. Each problem is unique by itself. But when you petition have an answer, petition again to have an opposite answer, there's lot of credibility loss. Knowledge base for the GM?
In fleet battle some got their ship reimbursed some don't That's weird. Sure that's after a fleet battle there's some (too much) petition asking for reimbursment (i knew people who do that everytime just saying In case of the GM reimburse me ) So player can complain that's they're not equal playing Eve (Tinfoil Hattery)
Eve Evolve a lot in 2 years, more and more player, more and more GM. That's imply that's the system is more impersonnal than before. As Maria Stallion said. Before a GM knew that's a node is stressed or other thing... Maybe it's just that GM have more time to speak together, alerting other GM... What is possible to do with a small team is impossible with a big one.

I've had to petition for the loss of a ship 4 times in three and a half years. I must be one of the chosen ones, because i've never had a problem getting my ship back.
I'm always polite when I petition......that might be the reason; who knows.

I got the same response after i lost my ship due to the EVE cluster lagging out. Apparently CCP is not aware of their server problems cuz they dont seem to log it.

Yep same. The petition system is a joke at the moment. The GMs are preoccupied with not being ripped off by "false" claims while snubbing those who have genuinely been F'd over.
Apparently if it's not in a log it can't be done. Which is "a bit" awkward when most of the problems of late are not logged. If I hadn't just chucked another 90 days in my account I'd be seriously considering suspending it until all these unlogged problems are resolved.

LOL. It must be an template reply. I get the exact reply word to word from every mod when I petition a lose due to server lag. ---------------- If You Can't Kill It, Slap It! The Man Who Runs Will Fight Again

I lost rigged t2 mega few days ago in a desync. Wrote a petition and got it reimbursed in a day with all three rigs plugged. Was just missing couple guns and couple other modules which were dropped as a loot. Can't say that I asked it in a kind manner but it worked. You need to give as much info as possible. Include a killmail also into petition. Maybe a screenshots too (I didn't have any screenshots).

Dude, you are in BOB, using petitions is so last year, you have MSN now
Joking aside, yep the petition system is utter fail atm. Desync is a known issue, but instead of fixing it, it seems they have recruited a whole bunch of GM's that you have never heard of before to deal with the number of petitions.
They offer helpful advice such as "lowering your resolution"...like that would help with a server problem.
If your logs don't show anything unusual, then I suggest you fix your logging software, so they actually start collecting useful data. CCP like to contradict themselves all the time, they say their logs show nothing, but create a thread about desync issues and deploy a patch to try and fix it

yeah nice one...so if you lose a ship because the server crashes, or messes up it's fine
What exactly are we paying for here? I know they want us to stay docked and enjoy walking in stations, but if you want to pay for a product that is well...broken, then good on you.

and can I add the roll eyes too
It is CCP that says there is nothing in log...so think before you type next time please
That is their excuse for not reimbursing. As you see, it is a pointless argument. Or maybe you don't see as you have no clue
I'll make it simple for you...if they can't see in their logs if you desynced or crashed or logged off...then why do they even bother quoting that in a GM response.
It is OBVIOUS the logging software is inadequate, a bit like your grasp on the problem
