Edited by: Nirtulys on 31/07/2007 13:22:08 after quick look in ships fitting requirements, I noticed, that setups, wich could benefit from nos as a logical module to fit, after nos nerf will be somewhat gimped from high slot lackage for weapon module to fit.
for example: Frigate > Amarr Punisher - 4 high slots, 3 turret mountable. more worse case Heavy assault ship > Gallente Ishtar - 5 high slots, only 3 turret mountable
other combat ships (till BS), wich also will have "spare" hi slot: Assault ships > Retribution, Ishkur; Battlecruisers > Harbinger, Drake; Battleship > Armageddon; Command Ship > Absolution; Cruisers > Arbitrator, Auguror, Maller (cry amarrians), Vexor; Frigate > Maulus; Heavy assault ships > Zealot, Cerberus, Deimos; Interceptor > Taranis;
so, does it mean, that nos nerf also will bring some ship fitting layout changes? Was this problem under question when nos nerf was planned?
your opinions about this case.

Having nos on smaller ships will give you some countermeassure against heavy Neuts. You get out of cap but you can nos back up. This with a good cap recharge on smaller ships instead of large cap amount will probably be a good anti NAUT...
Adept or die :)
Atleast on ships that wants and can get in range of the smaller NOS

I think, it was said, nos will work based on percentage of cap amount, so in most cases smaller ship would be step ahead againt neut.

It's not like nos is useless all of a sudden.

Edited by: Heelay Ashrum on 31/07/2007 13:39:52 Not at all. Everybody with a hi slot spare will put a neutralizer.
BS will still insta-drain smaller ships ( worsa than now) and nothing will change. The whine will continue, but we will have 1 usefull module less. ( added to the list of worthless modules to fit )
Ah.. and about small nos to compensate heavy neutr..... all i can do is just

oh wow another nos thread, how brilliant.
You realise there are a number of high slot modules right. drone link, smartbombs, neuts etc. or u can still use nos, it's still effective at times.

I agree, these changes doesn't mean nos won't be usefull at all, but it was somekind like a gun, or less expensive module to fit if there was lack of turret hi slot and at this point, I would like to see similar kind of setup compensation. I mean, there are ships, wich have f.e. 5 hi slots, and can choose to mount 3 turrets & 4 launchers. I think it is strange, when some ships having 5 hi slots can fit only 3 guns.

Daaa.. you can still use NOS. The fact that it wont be overpowered don make it useless. They will always be useful to help your cap to not dry, only less useful to brake tanks.
If brute force doesn't solve your problem... you are not using enough |

Nice, all threads made by 5-10 persons who cant think outside of a box for a few secs.
Dude, nerfing something, doesnt means you dont use it and doesnt means that nerfed thing is bad now. Its being balanced. ---

Yup... the only change is that Nos is becoming a defensive weapon as opposed to offensive - nothing else. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wonder if we can get the mods to start locking all these other extra nos threads. They already locked all the patch threads. (which is good)

So why can't ships like the Punisher/Harb/Blasterthron fit a nos in the spare slot now?
It still helps them.
Those ships generally dumped cap faster than other ships anyways so nos will still be useful.
Nothing has changed with Neuts. Using a neut on a small ship -vs- a big ship is still ********.
