Remember, Caldari ships only suck in solo PvP. I don't know about you, but a fleet consisting of dozens of ravens with NOS or rail-based ECM scorpions and Rokhs as backup with close-range drakes for anti-frigate support would be pretty dangerous...

hehe yer, you can say that. when have the french ever have any succes in any other war then the civilwars of their own:P
I don't think you can make military success claims regarding civil wars. Technically, you can't lose.

Because if the game were true to the background, the Caldari would be horrendously overpowered - their shields would be nearly impenetrable, their weapon systems lethal beyond compare, their capacitors without equal, their armour more solid even than that of the Amarrians (Seriously, they use Titanium Diboride armour plating - Tungsten Carbide's tougher older brother), their ships would be peerless, their technology unrivalled, and their supremacy in a one-on-one battle assured.
the only reason they lost the war with the Gallente is purely down to their numerical disadvantage - the Caldari at the time represented the total population of a single planet, whereas the Gallente represented several dozen (or even hundred) planets... and the State still fought the Federation to a standstill.
If i remember correctly, the Gallente had an equal number of piloted ships (or even a bit less) than the Caldari, but their drones gave them such a massive numerical advantage that the Caldari were simply overwhelmed. Honestly, I'm very surprised the Caldari haven't developed a dedicated anti-drone platform.
