D2 then asked Sparta to head to Fountain, and along with others open up a second front against BOB. Sparta did so, as was forward deployed for at least 2 months. Sure, there were a couple ratting and industrial ALTS still in FIO making ISK so their main characters could afford ships, mods, POS and carrier fuel, etc... but the fighting force was in Fountain. Then YouWhat switched sides... and brought the fight to the north. Sparta wanted to know if we should help and return north, but D2 said they could handle it. If I remember correctly, within 24 hours of YouWhat switching sides, the Goons were in Cloud Ring, putting towers into reinforced and giving YouWhat a hard time. Another couple of weeks went by, and D2 operations in Fountain were fewer. Where once Sparta had been part of a larger group in Fountain, we were now seeing fewer and fewer blues, and BOB was moving more and more reds into the area. We needed to recover, and with YouWhat and MC pressing in Pure Blind, Cloud Ring and Fade, we came to upper Dek. Please note that at this time D2 still owned both CZD and UEJ. Several weeks later, D2 gave us ownership of CZD and UEJ stations, probably hoping that we would be a roadblock for MC. We fought hard in Central Dek (then FLA space) and when D2 tried some assaults in Fade. But after FLA fell and D2 didn't lift a finger to help them, it became clear that we were given CZD and UEJ only because D2 wanted time to evacuate. FLA was in empire, RZR and MM were not helping us, IRON was no longer in Dek, and we knew D2 was not going to be a help. We didn't want to be meat shields, and we knew that MC's contract was to eliminate D2, not purge the north. They eliminated FLA only because there were tactical jump points in FLA space, from where they could jump from Dek to Branch. From what was then Sparta space, there is no capital ship access to Branch. Knowing this, we realized that if we stopped attacking MC, they would ignore us. They were getting paid to take out D2, and they didn't need to remove us to do so. Therefore, we withdrew from active combat, but still kept our stations open all northern members who would want a forward base from which to attack MC. This didn't go as planned, clearly. The rest is, as they say, history. So in rebuttal: no... Sparta didn't carebear it up while IRON was dying. One combat alt was sitting on a gate down south, and if the gate camp was slow, that player had an alt mining ice in FIO to lower the costs of running carriers, dreads and our tactical POSes that were deployed in hostile space. And yes, the alliance of D2/IRON/FLA/MM/RZR/SPR ended up being less than the sum of its parts -----------------------------------------------

Everyone has a different view of what everyone else did during the war. None of us can claim that we didnt make huge mistakes and none of us can say I out fought these other guys. We did our jobs but we didnt do them good enough. Can we please just stop. Its making all of us look bad PS. Even when we were back in the North in FLA, at least FLA had some dignity and true Honor to give it their best and very hardest and go down swinging and LEAVE instead of betray and sit in the shadow of the "Stronger" force. SPARTA complaining that a traitor betrayed is irony in its fullest. And, before you go bashing on IRON for leaving, they're still the Northern good guys, and you dont see them switching sides. And Triumvarite? they're gonna wipe the floor with your alliance and send you packing. Like FLA and Iron did when you turncoated. Karma rules dont it? It is reasonable to assume that SPARTA also would have been rewarded in the same way if they stayed and fought until they lost everything.

Flew there... tried to dock... and was rejected. The funny part is right after I was rejected from docking, a Spartan in local said "Are you bringing friends here to save us?!"... I believe my response was "Sure.. I can't even dock, but okay... we'll save you." At least they were kind enough to get the item from station for me.

Surprisingly enough (or not for those with a clue), the lack of action from IRON is what made us do what we had been pondering for a month before IRON invited us to Querious with them - standings reset. You saw us not fighting, too weak to resist, like we told you to expect. You saw FLA on its dying breaths, giving eveything they could. Instead of helping them, perhaps turning the tide, you said "** this, lets stay in Deklein." You reset standings and pulled out of combat, sure. While this was not exactly being a turncoat, it was cowardly and self-centered. Next, you decided to go all the way, and ally with our enemies to spite us, to continue living in the space we gave you. To the honest Sparta pilots out there, much respect for stepping out of line and standing up for the truth. If you get kicked for doing so, there is always a place for you in IRON. To the other responses, the facts are all over the place. Believe the ** you read here, or look for the truth elsewhere. Amnesia? I think not. IRON just lied. Sparta's full alliance (at that time, ironically 300 people) Deployed to WY-9LL in March. I know, I lived there for the next three months. I also watched BoB obliterate 9 Large poses in G95 during that time. (As well as a single small that belonged to Chorus right before they folded into -Y- and -Y- stabbed everyone in the back.) I left Fountain in late June. During that time, I threw I don't know how many rifters of my alts and a goodly stack of Celestis' from my main at Fountain Core. Don't forget, it was US that Snigg called when they pinned a Xelas capital down to come blow up, and it was US D2 called when they did the same thing. We took capitals along with D2 to blow up billions of Xelas and Aftermath equpiment. Then, after Y-2 had failed, and MC was moving through Fade at breakneck speed, D2 left. We were at that point the only ones down there. After Fatal blobbed us up relentlessly for about two weeks, the call came from D2 to head to Deklein, so we packed up and left. I still have a stack of stuff in WY-9LL, and one of my medical clones is in YZ-LQL believe it or not. Don't tell me we didn't fully deploy, I saw us do it. ------- CEO of Maids.
