I have been running missions for a bit trying to get standing up so iI can use a Jump Clone.
Some missions you have to use a jump gate to proceed through the mission and it useually warps you into close range of some of the mission targets. Other times it offers you the "warp to X" option. When I get the "Warp To" option will useually try and jump to 100km or 70km of target so I can take a look at what I am going to face. Every time i choose a safe distance to warp to, it STILL warps me to zero even if i selected a farther distance. Now this only happens on the initial jump into the mission. If I warp in and jump back out, I can warp in at range the next time. This just seems strange to me that it will not work on the first use of the warp to option.
Has anyone else noticed this?

By "this", you of course mean terrible, uninformative thread titles that cause me to completely ignore everything else you wrote?
In that case, yes.

I thought that this was a function of how the warp gates worked. They warp you to a specific coordinate and you don't get much control over it except for starting warp and stopping war. ----------- Yes, I are made of alt. |

Yep, I've noticed it. Not sure why, but if you are worried about tacklers scramming you, pod in the first time. I'm sure you know this, but there it is anyway. ;) --- I Support The NOS Nerf! If anything just to make you mad.

Yes tha's correct, I am not worried about the gates, It's the Warp to X feature thats borked.

Yup, never works for me.

I have. XYZ locations in missions seem to be generally borked right now. I've noticed at least three different problems:
1) "warp to x" doesn't actually warp you to the distance specified, just to 0.
2) The "distance to" on Acceleration gates is borked. It says "0 m" when you are still as much as 1 KM out from the gate. While it's nice to be able to snag the gate quickly and run through the mission super-fast, it just looks weird with your overview showing 0 meters distance and you can clearly see the gate is quite a ways off yet.
3) Mission rats showing up in odd places. I've seen mission rats over 100KM away from a target they should be defending, and others right on top of the jump in point when they are supposed to be guarding a structure 30km away. Their AI seems even dumber than before too, but that's probably just me getting better at missions. :)

As far as I know, there is a warp beacon that pulls you to a certain spot, present in every deadspace pocket (including the entrance gate "stage"). I find it interesting that you found a way around it.

This bug (feature?) has been around for a while. You can warp in first in a shuttle, make a bookmark, then come back in your combat ship and warp 100km from the bookmark and it will work properly.

Mission locations aren't generated until you warp to them, thus, when you "Warp to" the pocket, it will warp you to the "warp-in" spot that is generated when you come out of warp. If you warp to the mission, warp out, then warp in at range, it should work. Alternatively, change your default "Warp-to" distance, and on the 2nd warp, it should come in normally.
The jump gates showing that you are at 0km even though you are a bit off was a fix to the old system, where approaching a gate would get you stuck on it. ...

I've found starting a warp and then aborting it and then warping again at distance works as well sometimes. It seems that the deadspace loads when you initiate warp not when you actually get there.

^^^^^ what he said
I was gonna suggest initiating warp, stopping it and warping again too....

meh... not a big deal to me.. same is with stations... You're at 0m distance but you can still go closer. Doesn't bother me tbh.
Sometimes when sleeping in my pod, I dream of this world (Real Life they call it) and there they have roadsigns that give direction and distance to a location. They also tell me sometimes 1km to go although I have to travel much more then 1km to reach the center of that location.

I've seen both of those. Plus
4) Rats that decide to turn and fly directly away from you for no reason and keep going until they're over 150km away.
5) Rats that can shoot rockets at infinite range. The rocket animation stops at the appropriate distance, and the flame vanishes, but seconds later a mysterious explosion hits your ship as if the rocket was traveling the whole (impossible) distance.
