TO RETURN TO THE ORIGINAL QUESTION:
The new mining upgrades have been disabled by CCp because a Rokh and maybe some other BS was capable of outmining a Hulk with them, as the mining upgrades aren't stack nerfed and the Bs can put up more than a barge/exumer.
The ice mining upgrade works fine.
The solution to the above problem that CCP think to implement is to stack nerf the upgrades.
So the introduction of better mining upgrades will have the end results of reducing mining jeld  .

They're going to be changing them down to 5-9% bonuses, and releasing T2 versions for invention in Rev 2. They're also upping the drop rate. And I believe they did/have disabled the ore ones.

Also the invention implants currently do nothing also. So. Yep, it seems releasing things without testing that people sink isk into before having them disabled / being told they don't work / nerfed, does happen all the time.
Anyway with the increased drop rate, the reduced effect and the fact that T2 versions will be common with only a slight fitting disadvantage, I'd say that yes, anyone spending hundreds of millions of isk on this, is throwing it away on something that will be worth 10's of millions at very most in Rev 2.2......

Actually, the planned change is a heavy reduction in yield bonus, 1% per meta level for a max of 9% bonus for aoede... alongside introduction of T2 MLUs with a 10% bonus (rendering the aoede all but worthless... unless, of course, the T2 will also have a much heavier CPU penality as aoede).

why not jsut tweak em so when youre not flying a barge the % doesnt apply
apply a tag , if in barge 10% bonus etc if in any other ship 0% bonus, ship specific implants - easy enough done

Thanks, MerchMaster, for asking a legitimate question. One that can benefit most of us here. I am sorry that EVE has become populated with ego driven school girls that need to bash others on the forums because they can't muster the bravery to stand up to their big brother or ask a girl to their high school dance. Is it any wonder that they come here and try to play "big boy" flying pink ships while sitting behing a computer without anything constructive to say.
