OAKLAND, Calif. û August 3, 2007 û BattleClinic.com today announced the completion of its acquisition of Griefwatch.net. Like BattleClinic, Griefwatch is a gaming site supporting the EVE Online community. Griefwatch is best known for hosting player killboards.
The acquisition of Griefwatch by BattleClinic creates one of the largest, most innovative player-run community sites for EVE Online. Bringing Griefwatch under the BattleClinic umbrella combines some of the gameÆs strongest out-of-game support with innovative functionalityùall designed to help players gain greater enjoyment from the game.
BattleClinic has already begun integrating Griefwatch into its server structure. Effective immediately, the new Griefwatch ownership will be responsible for all facets of the service. The staff is committed to executing a smooth transition, so customers can access their boards with a minimum amount of downtime and without having to change their bookmark or link URLs.
As part of the initial integration of offerings, BattleClinic will immediately create a Fight SmartÖ Fund with a portion of the ISK revenue generated by GriefwatchÆs killboard rental fees. The fund will support in-game organizations that help new players learn the game, or that supply formal PVP training to others. For more information on the Fight SmartÖ Fund, please see the Q&A section below.

About Griefwatch.net
Griefwatch was started a little over a year ago, we had no idea how it was going to turn out. Thanks to a dedicated customer base and the community at large, Griefwatch is now the largest provider of killboards to date. We are very proud of the service we created and the relationships we've formed. This is why it is of the utmost importance to us that the new Griefwatch owner be equally committed to quality and, above all, excellent customer service.
With BattleClinic, we found the right people. They have assured us that Griefwatch will remain the reliable and ever improving service that it is today. We've discussed some of their many plans for Griefwatch and we can assure you that the best is yet to come.
In closing, we'd like to once again thank BattleClinic for helping us keep Griefwatch alive and kicking for the future to come. Also, we'd like to thank CCP for allowing us to complete this transition as well as for providing valuable support when we needed it, not to mention the game that we all love. Finally, we'd like to thank the players who have supported us and who collectively have made Griefwatch the outstanding service that it is today.
