Hey guys, myself and a few of the lads at Eve-Radio are putting together a colossal event that will be taking place in early October called the Eve-O-Lympics. I'll have more information on the event itself as time passes, but while we're in the early phases of planning it, I'd like to solicit those of you with photoshop skills (or whatever other program you like to use).
What I'm looking for here is a logo to use on our webspace which is still being worked on. The event will consist of several individual events (PVP tourneys, racing, etc.) where pilots will be competing for Bronze, Silver and Gold medals, to win prizes for themselves, and bring in points for their Corp or Alliance's team.
I'm looking for an image, say with a width of 450 and a height of 200. It should have the words "EvE-O-Lympics" and "Faurent 2007" on it as well as an Olympic feeling logo. It should be fairly easy to resize (since we'll want to be making forum sigs with it eventually as well). and you can feel free to give yourself credit as the designer in the lower right corner.
If we pick your logo for this Year's O-Lympics, you will be paid 250m ISK cash money... and maybe something a little extra if we REALLY dig it.
Please no overly complex images. Most of the background should be white. If you need inspiration have a google search for past Olympic logos, just make sure your logo is unique since we don't want to be committing copyright infringement on actual Olympic logos.

that's just the vector art for now(which can be resized infinitely), I've done some texturing and added some 3d-bevel effects and Shading but it wasn't satisfied with the current results, gonna work on it later :P

Wow guys, you're going to make it hard on us to choose one... I mean the vast majority of them kicked super buttage.
The only thing is that a couple entries use the traditional 5 ring actual RL Olympic design, which will be a nono for us. Not that I think the Olympic committee would bother to sue us, but we're not going to want to test those waters if you get my drift.
The entries that use the 5 rings in a pattern different from the actual Olympic ring design are fine though.
Given how quickly the entries are coming in, we'll most likely be selecting the winner 1 week from Today, which will be Thursday, 16th August. The Selection Ceremony will be held on Eve-Radio at 2100 game time roughly.

Simple Logo
The simple logo is a bit like the olympic rings. If you plan to make a regular event of this, you'll need a symbol that is easy to recognize. Of course the symbol I made is somewhat generic, it could be built upon by making each side represent a medal (bronze gold silver). Either way, it could be polished and adjusted easily to match any need.
The pretty logo is, believe it or not, hugely resizeable since it is almost entirely vector art.

First idea. Close but not too close to the Olympic symbol. Simple too. I wanted a logo that didn't really represent any particular race, but wasn't so complex as to show them all. Also I wanted a neutral, inclusive look. Friendly competition as the Olympics should be.
It's vector so resizing = no problem.

By the way, some of the other submissions on here are really impressive as well, but I hope you like mine!

i based this one upon the olypic wreath, making it seem a little more metalic however and using the 5 coloured rings as if they were rings around a planet.

My entry: banner / sig / plan view. The 3d model is hand built and textured, its a blend between an eve station (rougly caldari) and some olympic rings.

The primary reason was that we had to narrow the choices for the listeners to pick to 5 or 6 entrants, so we picked our favorites and put them up for the listeners to vote on. The entries we picked were the most eye catching of the lot, and the ones we thought had the most visual appeal for people to pick from.
However in a few cases, such as yours, it was felt the logo you submitted, even with the addition of the wings on the sides, was too close to the actual Olympic logo.
