There isn't a "best" way of making money. There are lots of good ways though. Depends what you want: do you want something fun? Do you want something that you can do with one account? Do you want something that needs zero starting capital? Etc.

The least skill intensive method of making ISK is missioning in Caldari ships. Mining isn't as profitable as it used to be.
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |

Last time I checked a rat doesnt drop that too damned often either.
Although if you rat as mucvh as a miner mines, yeah you'll score paydirt eventually.

Happens to me all the time, you're not looking in the right places
Mining is easy, but easy is boring. Depending on where you are, ratting can be more profitable too.

Two ch***s at the same time man!
Uhm, I meant t2 items
But getting into this business needs lots of skills and really a big bunch of money, just look at the t2 bpo prices in the market section of the forum. But once you are there, you can make good money!
Maybe even better money gives moon mining with reactions afterwards. But that is also high end business, nothing for a starter.
Do missions or mining. Probably missions.

No but when I can be making easyly 2 million every 180 seconds I wont complain
To the OP: The beauty about EvE is that there is no single professon that is the easiest, or sure fired way, of making money. Each professon, if done correctly you can easyly make a nice wad of cash but you need to be deticated enough to see it threw. So basicly, find your passion in eve and let that make your money.

Depends entirely on wich 0.0 alliance you choose, most of the the alliances currently in 0.0 are involved in copious amounts of pewpew, so it may be slightly easier to make iskies, you'll be spending as much or more replacing ships heh I so came to party!

Edited by: MotoTsume on 07/08/2007 22:43:46 I rat in Providence - and only for a couple of hours a day - rest of eve time is spend PVP - and during those couple of hours I can easily make 30-50 million when combining the rat bounties and the sale of the reprocessed loot - and once in a while a Named rat drops a present for me making the payday even better.
And there are regions of 0.0 that are a lot better than providence for rats.
I just follow this Guide: Chaining

The easiest way to make isk is to do something that you enjoy, or at least doesnt bore you to tears. If you can't be arsed doing something you won't make isk. --------------------------------- There's a simple solution to every problem. It is always invariably wrong |

the easiest way to make money is when someone randomly gives you some. Just don't count it on being a very fast way to make money.

All depends on your skills really. For the first few months of my time on Eve, mining was by far the easiest/fastest way for me to earn isk. My industrial power (numbering in the millions) was unmatched by my puny 5,000 missile operation and gunnery skill points. However, I've made an effort to change that in the past few months, until I was finally confident enough to join the 0.0 PvP world. As it is, either mission-running or ratting would be my best path to isk-earning. Although with my industrial background, mining is still an option. I hope I don't need to resort to that though. ---

Playing the market, scamming, griefing, pirating, ransoming are probably the best choices.

Sit in Jita and spam the local chat with "GiMMiE ISk I r brOke!!111".. Someone will eventually donate if just to shut you up.. Other than that mining is the easiest way for a newb to make isk in the beggining.. After you get a decent isk stake then move out to missions or trading or keep skilling up to mine in a barge and join an industrial corp and go mine the good stuff in 0.0..

Easiest way that requires least amount of attention, zero risk, and practically no thought would be running courier missions in high sec. Just have to check that the route is safe. Also mining with a hauler in high sec - no worries about ore thieves. You'll have to pay attention to the game about once every 15 minutes switching the mining laser from rock to rock. Note that both of these activities also generate very little ISK.

Try some missions and trading. If you invest a lot of SP in mining, you will curse yourself later on. Trading is so easy that you can just make a trader alt(second character, not second account) with plenty of skills out of the box and not even train it much or at all.

Agreed. With 800,000 skillpoints out of the box now, you can make a pretty sweet JitaTradeAlt019.
As far as other methods go, I mainly kill NPC rats in 0.0. This is also known rather infamously as isk-farming, but the difference is that I do it just enough to support my frequent ship losses in pvp. The thing is, while isk is nice, miners are always needed, because isk doesn't make ships. Minerals do. A properly supported miner can do quite well in 0.0, though, like I've said, they need to be supported, as it can be quite dangerous at times.
And, yes. This is my Oursulaert/Rens trade alt/musician, complete with 500K SP in trade, and a music career thanks to Paul Simon. And, I don't do Jita. |

Mining. Yea it pulls in isk, but slowly. and you have to find good sell prices, haul often long distances, have a second account for cover/hauling or have a friend who you'll have to share the profit with.
Missioning. It takes long to reach the LVL 4 missions, but once there you have a decent income. Takes a little skill to handle untill you get into the good stuff.
Ratting. In empire, ratting sucks. in 0.0 ratting rocks, but at a high risk.
Trade. Takes alot of skill and knowledge. you need alts all over the place to check markets. difficult to get to work. When it works you can make incredible ammounts. (I can't get this to work tho. too impatient ;) )
Piracy. Takes a bit of skill and luck. You have to find targets that you can handle alone, that don't have backup and that are willing to pay a ransom to survive. I hear some people make a good living this way. iDrone |

Edited by: General Coochie on 08/08/2007 09:31:26 I spend about 30min aday on my alt, manufacturing. I dont really wanna tell you what and where cause that would make other ppl come aswell I belive.
Anyhow the last 2 weeks it gave me about 200mill. Not bad Id say for total of 7 hours of work ? 28mill / hour played.
Then I can spend all my other time in EvE pirating as much as I like. And that to yields some profit, not that much but enough to pay for the ships I use atleast so I never loose any isk really. On the other hand a 59mill ransom is nice, though extremely rare
And also I started this manufacturing thing 1.5 month ago, I was a 50mill, Now Im at 500 mill. So I will only earn more really the more I spend time on it. Signature removed - please reduce your signature graphic height to less than 120 pixels - Jacques([email protected]) |

I personally think that doing missions is the easiest way to make money as a rookie!
You get LP points to buy stuff (and sell it if you so chose) you get bounties from the rats, you get mission rewards in ISK, you can loot! - some loot you will use, some you will sell, and most you will reprocess into minerals and sell that! or use it to make stuff like ammo.. and sell that.. and finally there is salvage!.. on its own its worth quite alot! (a melted capcitor console fetchs upto half a mil)..
The great thing about missions is that the more you do them the more profitable they become, as your standing increases.
Mining is "easy" in that you dont do much.. but I dont find it very easy to sit still for long periods of time!
And of course if you have some friends you can do that more difficult missions even quicker!
