"2007.08.07 20:06:12 Notify Report of a criminal within this solar system: Ogdru Jahad - We will ensure that law will be upheld in Minmatar space!"
now i know some secruity ships show up usually 2x bs and three cruisers. thing is. will concord shoot me if I shoot them back and do they repawn right away? If they dont will this allow me to travel through high sec with only a short battle at each gate...

Last time I accidentally jumped into High Sec, Concord didn't engage if you shot them. As far as respawning, I'm not sure, but I believe they do.

Edited by: Sean Dillon on 07/08/2007 20:41:25 They just perma jam you. You wouldn't be able to lock anything at all. And if you manage to lock&shoot some, faction police cruisers will appear to make you shut fire.

It's perfectly possible to lock the police and tank them too, I've been doing it on sisi with a few corpmates. Problem is, they respawn, and each ship that scrams has allegedly 5 points at 80km range. We were able to fight our way back to the gate, losing only a rokh who took full aggro of everything spawned by our gang. None of us were at any point able to warp, and our locktime was nearly non-existant.
Basically, run for the gate while fighting if you can move at all.

No concord will not fire on you if you return fire on the faction navy. you will be perma jammed instantly so fighting is tricky, however they can be very easily killed with heavy drones over time and they are extememly easy to tank. they also respawn rather quickly after killing them so i very much doubt u could get to the point where you can warp off.

I jumped into toohighsec in a passive FOF Drake. Six faction police spawned, so I started spamming FOF and unleashed drones.
Unfortunately... I couldn't kill them quickly enough. I got their numbers down to 2 or 3 but their respawn rate was just too high. Maybe better skills and a full rack of BCS II would be enough?
In the end I had to get a corpmate to bump me back to the gate, as I was webbed to 7 m/s or something silly.

Navy's not that tough, I was fooling around in a dual rep ishtar and permatanked the gallente navy, and had no trouble killing them at all. After a while of them sucking, I started killing the customs officials too. It's the customs frigs that jam, for the record, get drones on them and it's easy street from then on. And killing them doesn't count as aggression so you can always jump out while killing them.
They don't drop loot, and the experience is overall unrewarding and anticlimactic. Good way to totally hose up faction standings in a hurry, however :P

The last time I did this in Hi-sec was about a year ago.
Its faction police that come after you, they didnt jam, it was 2bs, 2 cruisers.
Had to wait for them to agro first, else the sentries would butt in if I were the aggressor. Once each ship died the replacement would spawn immediatly and lock me, but not fire. If I did refire on the respawn then every ship from the second spawn would shoot at me as soon as their predesesspr (sp?) died.
Also, if I killed the same ship 10 times, then i would have to kill every other ship 10 times to get to an unagroed spawn.
Once the spawn is unaggroed you can move freely until you next undock, jump or log back in. (I would have said all session changes, but I cant see a gang invite triggering them again)
And it is a **** easy way to get across empire space, also if someone shoots at you in hi-sec and your below -5.0 you can shoot back and kill them too.
On a side-note, they dont fire missiles (or didnt), so this means that caldari are weakest due to bs only firing 4 turrets and the cruisers just orbiting.
As to loot, they used to share the same loot table as their counter-part npcs, named items and everything. Now the loot just sux, mostly basic, the odd decent item dropped now and then, but nothing spectacular.

Perma-jam /scramble / web...
Do the faction navies NOS too? Or is that just CONCORD? If you have a sustainable dual-rep tank, I suppose you could just sit there and deal with it, no?

I did some more testing with this in an ishtar, and noticed a few things. Note this was all done with gallente NPC's using a sustainable dual rep ishtar with 92% kin/therm resists, your experience may vary.
The Police drop loot with no wrecks, crappy loot at that, not worth scooping for the most part. I didn't get a single tag. They do return fire and do pretty measly damage. They jam, seemed to be any of the ships had a random chance of perma jamming you. They also web and scramble, but if you keep in dock/jump range, killing them isnt agression so you're free to withdraw from the "fight" whenever.
The Navy drops wrecks with no loot, I didn't bother salvaging them to see if there was anything good. They don't seem to shoot back, they will target you and then just explode. No webs or scrams, or maybe they just didn't live long enough.
The Customs NPC's drop neither loot nor wrecks, and actually hit kind of hard. Appears that only the frigates jam. Webs and scrams, free to jump/dock whenever you need.
Agression doesnt seem to carry over, i.e. i didnt avhe spawns chasing me around, and even the same spawn i was engaging did not open fire when i returned. In conclusion, overall a waste of time (and drones).

A sustainable single rep tank tbh. i jumped in in my absolution a long time ago and i wasn't even perma running 1 of the 2 reps. Altho jamming is instant and permanent
And no i don't think they nos.

Useless but funny : buy raven + tank/cruise fitting + FOF cruise missiles in high sec, go there in your pod. Undock in raven, chain the navy (they respawn whenever you kill one), dock when bored.
