I would suggest if you're fitting a large armor rep why bother at all?

Edited by: Balcura on 08/08/2007 18:58:51 What he's saying is if you plan on fitting a large rep on a dread you may not have a good plan in motion. You idea is sucking up a valuable low slot and putting a large armor rep which in the capital ship scheme of things makes you actully tank weaker.
Just a Thaught...
P.S. It should also work on a large armor rep, but have never tried.

Uh i think he's being quite clear. It's stupid to fly a dread without capital reppers. A battleship would Literally be better.
There's 3 modules you need to make a dread good. Capital Repair System "shield or armor", Siege Module, Capital Weapon System. Without even 1 of these dreadnoughts SUCK. ______________________

Not quite true. Siege module is pretty much pos-warfare only, and even if thats 95% of the use of a dread - its not 100% of the use. There are even specific situations where you'd be better of with other weapon systems than capital - but they are even more specific and I won't even start to talk about them.

Name 1 situation like this. Where a carrier wouldn't be wouldn't be better at half the cost. ______________________

Gatecamping in lowsec, popping battleships outside stations and well.. it pretty much ends there.

Show me a non-sieged Dreadnought that could outdps a battleship. The only one that stands a chance is a moros and a carrier would pretty much be better in every way. Especially when you add in the fact that carriers can assign drones to thier gangmates much much much more safely. ______________________

Oh dear, this dps-obsession is getting old. Show me the BS that can outalpha a dread? And just why would you assign your fighters to anyone else in this scenario?
